which space ship is best against the sige that will come after you fight the alien on the estern island. Is it the fighter escort ship or the dragon ship or is it mecha dragon ship

They each have their own perks. Fighter escort doesn't need to rely on food (same with mecha) and it can be equipped with a solid cannon or shield-piercing missiles (which are quite expensive to craft). The dragonship can be equipped with a burst weapon, hitting the fighters as well or dealing multiple hits in one shot, or a ship-piercing heavy cannon that deals a good amount of damage. It does require food to operate for a while, though. Mecha ship doesn't need food, and it can be equipped with homing missiles that target nearby ships or a decent heavy cannon.
The best way to defend is to board the enemy bomber (fly over it and hit "use" when the ship is highlighted. Equipment needed for this is pretty low, but you may want a high-health shield (such as energy shield with >20 or 30 batteries) and/or be pretty good at dodging. When you first enter, move straight up or you have a high chance of dying almost immediately. Fire missiles are an excellent weapon, taking an enemy out in 2-3 hits.
