Pearl Farming Info Share

So I was trying to farm pearls for the museum collection room . What I tried first was farming the clams in the kraken cave located in the maze of divider island . To increase my farming I blocked off the deep blue water in 2 tiles of sand and drained all the water just 2 tiles high at the bottom. This made the clams only spawn at the bottom for the most part. A few would spawn in the dark blue water but it did what I wanted. The problem was the rate of drop was too low. This effectively did not work out sooooo. I decided to try something.... I changed my stats with the time manipulator and went all out fishing. With max fishing and revisiting that location I fished at the bottom pool of water I made and BAM I was netting pearls WAAAAAY faster then farming the clams. I wasn't even sure fishing would net them but luckily it did. The big tip I can give is with max fishing the prompt is always E normally. However if the prompt ever turns to A then it is 100% a pearl about to be landed unless you mess up. If you hit E when it says A then you just lost a pearl. They are not super common but compared to waiting for re-spawns it was MUCH faster. I just wanted to share my experience with the community.

I typically just purchase them from the Fish Merchant. Dragonblood sells well, as do diamonds; both are easy to get.

Thanks for the tip. I never even thought about that guy for selling pearls as I hardly ever visit that area. Good information though and probably would have saved me a bit of time buying them while fishing periodically. Probably will mix fishing/buying them next play-through (with a friend) to speed it along. I did enjoy fishing since it was not hard with the cap fish level and the turn over was pretty fast. It also afforded me the ability to eat and play during that time since I only needed one hand to fish :)

Sushi also helps with the fishing. I'll have to try that.
