Hopefully someone else have more or better tips for you...
Anyway , in Aground as other places then it is often a matter of finding creative solutions- But to do that one needs to know the game very well to know what solutions is possible - or allowed...
I see "power plant" then there is thing you can build in the research ship called "generator" and that might be placbable underground?
But when I try to place a normal power plant in the starter bunker, it says "cannot be placed underground". Confusing.
I have also used solar generators some places but they only work at day...
I am not sure that I used bunkers that much and as far as I remember then (at least) some buildings can be built outside bunkers underground (e.g. a laboratory )...
I don't think that everything needs to be so convenient or possible. To me the rules of the game is part of the game-play. Part of game-play is also to device strategies and solutions to 'problems' and 'challenges'....
I think that we have been here so many times before in discussions... I know that you want to be kind to players but even if not all players recognize this then I think that what serves players the best is to give them the most enjoyable game-play - which IMO is not always about serving the convenient solutions . not even if asked for by some...
Also , as squirleybob indirectly pointed out , then problem is already taken care of late game by the use of Power Cores. I were aware of Power Cores when writing a previous response above , but I were so long time since I played that I could no-longer remember exactly how they worked... So for me the use of Generators as at least an intermediate solution were part of my game-play... !
What is purpose of putting a dragon in the generator?
After bombardment, I did not have any structures above ground. I did not need nuclear power so did not upgrade to see the nuclear generator. I also did not know that power cores were also generators or power sources.
All I knew was I needed power, so I tried to build power plant and it says I cannot build it underground. But there is an underground power plant in the other bunker, so it is confusing.
If player sees a generator in one bunker, it shows them how to use the generator in the bunker. So they know that if they want power in the starting island bunker, they need a generator. but then it will not allow you to build a generator underground.
