Aground
Building a power plant underground for starter island bunker teleporter
1> I cannot place a power plant underground in the starting island bunker. Is this possible?

2> If there is no power plant, will the teleporter work in the starting island bunker?

3> I cannot fit the advanced factory in the other bunker (do I have to remove a building?). That bunker has power, but the other bunker wont let me build a power plant underground, so I can build the advanced factory in one bunker, but with no power. But in the other bunker, there is no power but I can build the advanced factory but I cannot use it.

I can no longer remember it all , and much have changed since last I played , but I remember using two ways of powering myself , one was to use power-lines to transfer power from one place to another. The other was using transportable nuclear generators to power buildings (just remember to turn off when not using...

Hopefully someone else have more or better tips for you... :rfacepalm:

Anyway , in Aground as other places then it is often a matter of finding creative solutions- But to do that one needs to know the game very well to know what solutions is possible - or allowed... :hmm:

There is a solar generator, that is transportable. Not nuclear.

I see "power plant" then there is thing you can build in the research ship called "generator" and that might be placbable underground?

But when I try to place a normal power plant in the starter bunker, it says "cannot be placed underground". Confusing.

Nuclear Generator is crafted at the Nuclear Plant. , ref. : https://aground.fandom.com/wiki/Item_List
I have also used solar generators some places but they only work at day...
I am not sure that I used bunkers that much and as far as I remember then (at least) some buildings can be built outside bunkers underground (e.g. a laboratory )...

Power plants normally can't be built underground, but the one in the Sunset Haven bunker is an exception (as it is placed by the game, not build by the player). It can be upgraded to a nuclear plant, though. For power in the starting island bunker, a generator would work (either nuclear or normal). I would prefer using a power core; they are much more expensive to make and place but provide infinite power without using fuel. Teleporters can be build in both bunkers, but they need to be powered to run. Anything that can be built underground (most magic and several science) can be built in the bunkers. Hope this helps.

I might just make power plants build-able underground by players too. They can look a little weird if you put a dragon in them and don't mine out enough room, but I think it's okay.

I don't think that everything needs to be so convenient or possible. To me the rules of the game is part of the game-play. Part of game-play is also to device strategies and solutions to 'problems' and 'challenges'....
I think that we have been here so many times before in discussions... I know that you want to be kind to players but even if not all players recognize this then I think that what serves players the best is to give them the most enjoyable game-play - which IMO is not always about serving the convenient solutions . not even if asked for by some...

Also , as squirleybob indirectly pointed out , then problem is already taken care of late game by the use of Power Cores. I were aware of Power Cores when writing a previous response above , but I were so long time since I played that I could no-longer remember exactly how they worked... So for me the use of Generators as at least an intermediate solution were part of my game-play... ! :ooh: :hmm: :hee:

I agree with you in some cases - if the game becomes too convenient/easy, then it becomes less fun. But in this case, I think power plants should be placeable underground. You can get around it using the factory to craft a portable generator anyways, but that requires a powered factory so is creates a chicken and egg problem (need generator to power factory but that requires a powered factory - which could be very annoying if you just want one underground bunker factory but you have to build a powerplant and surface factory to do so - even cables require a factory). An underground powerplant solves that problem because you can build structures even without a factory.

I did not know you could place power cores.

Why would you put a dragon in a power plant? What does that do?

What is purpose of putting a dragon in the generator?

I think if you cannot build the gnerator underground, in the starter bunker, then there is no way to power the teleporter. And that is frustrating.

After bombardment, I did not have any structures above ground. I did not need nuclear power so did not upgrade to see the nuclear generator. I also did not know that power cores were also generators or power sources.

All I knew was I needed power, so I tried to build power plant and it says I cannot build it underground. But there is an underground power plant in the other bunker, so it is confusing.

If player sees a generator in one bunker, it shows them how to use the generator in the bunker. So they know that if they want power in the starting island bunker, they need a generator. but then it will not allow you to build a generator underground.

Power plants and generators are two different things. Power plants are the structure and generators are portable power suppliers that can be crafted at a factory (of which there is one in the Sunset Haven bunker). You can craft a generator at the factory in the Sunset Haven bunker (or upgrade the power plant there to a nuclear plant and craft a nuclear generator there) and carry it over to the starting island bunker to power the teleporter. Just make sure you have enough fuel.
