win7 ultimate 64-bit, amd radeon rx480
Could you give a hint, what kind of problem it is?
10 gb downloading took me quite a while and eventhough i have a fast connection it took a while ....
update ? as far as i know Unity should be able to export win 7 aswell.... so no real 'updates' are needed.... unless the Unity developers decided to fix that , and need a proper export to win 7 plat form ?
Anyway tons of Unity games flooding over all stores sofart i could run all the games i bought, minus this one which might be a small reading mistake cause i assumed Unity runs on win 7 and up , or maybe the develoeprs do NOT have a win7 machine ?
Nevermind its 71 cents or so thats no big deal ..............but like i said unless Unity changed things, export to win7 should be possible .... still dont understand why only 8 ? i can understand if it would be only win 10 , thats a different ball game win 10, win 7 and 8 usually have same export: to win7 platform and win 8 and even win 10...
Ahwell, if the devs do not plan to release for win 7 its okay , it sad but okay
i know it is sad .... they dont want to fix it to work for win 8 , ahwell ....
gonna delet it cause its eating up my HD space, i can put 7 or 8 large hidden objects on the disk for that space :D
maybe steam can add an option to hide games that only work on win 8 and and win 10 ? i like the option they added to better hide the games you do not want to show during search :D this saves me hours of reading cause all the games i dont want are darkended now :D
If only this could also be done for required OS, to hide all games that run on a speciifc os, like vista, xp , unix/linux and win 8 and 10 only, this way i could filter out all games that need win 8, or 10 or other os i do not have....
why would they not want to make compatible ? well i have thoughts on that: extra work :
thats what might be the reason why personally if I was dev i would make it on as much OS as possible: kaching , more platform = more work but also more money, cash, i think its dinero in spanish ( google says it is) (Dutch: poen, geld)
Anyway i think there are more developers at steam that only have games starting from win 8x only... so a new feature would be handy to have to hide all games <> then the OS we used to login into steam, i use win 7 so no need to show games in my case that are win 8 and up :D
Well i am out of here .... reading the developers replies only make me feel sad
Well as this topic gains more attention than expected, we want to explain the issue to you. The problem does not results from any special techniques we used as a developer. It results from Unitys content build system. Initially all builds worked on win 7 systems, but since there was an issue with the content builder the build didn't work any more. Of course we contacted Unity Support, but even they don't have any idea how to fix it. The only solution to solve the problem is to build up the game from scratch again, which is no option, as it would took a lot of time. And because we are working on our next game currently, we can't take this time. We hope you all guys accept our excuse and understand the situation.
Thanks to everyone of you!
Best regards
Tim
thanks for the quick reply ....
i love this part of the Unity team reply: i will quote it
So Unity Support admitted they do not know how to fix it ?
Well this news just made my day
Anyway this shows that Unity developers who wrote their own engine codes to create a tool to create games ( sounds complicated but they use some sort of code to code a tool that can create games ?) for engines / game creation tools, do not know their game 'engines', 'tools' 'utilities' or whatever they are called they developed.
That would be like needing a shovel to dig up a hole to plant a tree in, but no shovel or similar tool is available, so we need to find wood, and we found trees, but we have no axe to cut the trees, somehow we need the wood and some iron to make a shovel.
All very confusing.
Thanks again for the reply , today is a happy day .... thank you very much.

It is of (imho) no use to have a minimum and recommended system to be the same, if it is made for only 1 platform : win 8x there is no need to mention the recommended.
For your next game please do use win 7 it looks like, there are still lots of Win 7 users cause many users of win 8 usually have win7 somewhere, if you do not upgrade that is: (i never upgrade but get a new windows. )
