Vergil
Is Vergil being dressed in blue and being gay a reference to Devil May Cry?

No.

Moreover, we don't know that he's gay as such. He has a "preference for men" but that doesn't mean he's not bisexual, biromantic, etc.

Uh...I'd say given the end museum sequence where he's living with the other guy (forgot his name) puts him at a "pretty gay" level...

I thought it was also kinda humorous to use a flamboyant voice actor for Vergil and dress them in tight fitting and brightly colored clothes throughout. I guess they weren't trying to be subtle!

Again, being in a gay relationship with another man doesn't mean he's "gay" as such. He said he has a preference; he didn't say it was total. Sexuality is a spectrum, and we don't know how Vergil identifies exactly. In a way that's fitting since Romans didn't have "gay" as a concept or label: their sexuality was activity-defined, not identification-defined. I didn't read him as obviously flamboyant either, and being in tight or bright clothing does not a gay man make, even if some might see that as suggestive. I've met many modern European men who dress in tight, bright-fitting clothes and are flamboyant, yet straight (as far as they identify). One of them was a serial womanizer.
