I think they do ok in korea because their attitude towards the shop is to make it accesable for all players, things are cheaper there, much cheaper. When they enter the western market they assume everyone who plays games in the west is a wealthy trust fund baby, and the prices go up like 2-5 times. Then, because kids in asia are dropping dead playing games with 5 days straight they impliment stupid lock out and timers on content, so when i have a free day i cant progress to make up for all the days i have zero time to game.
Oh not to mention just about every game with a cash shop like this dies in a year or two, and there are multiple games thriving with cash shops that do it right for example.
Next time when you rip content and music from diablo 3 and path of exile take note of how they are monitied while you are there. I swear im hearing sarn town music and i can pretty much reference what D3 map im on in many cases. How did you miss the amazing cash shop in POE or how D3 was monitized while you were sketching backgrounds and composing their music??
Seriously this isnt a half bad game, just give up your dreams of making billions on insanely rich westerners....youll make more money catering to people who will spend $5-$10 a month by given them value for their money than trying to suck every last dime out of 10 wealthy people while drivng away normal gamers.
