No one cant tell the future. In fact I hope that Mu Legend here on Steam succeeds but I can see what you mean.
The game it's tons of fun specially if you are into ARPG but if things don't work out they only need to make it offline, add some steam achievements and I'm done! Ha, I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

just hope they release the files to run a own server like with old mu online there are dozens of Pservers. then run you own offline/lan server
