The ending good? bad?

Without spoiling it for me, what do people think of the ending of the game? I find it kinda disappointing to spend alot of time playing a game only for the ending to not be good. The ending is the emotional reward for finishing the game. (especially if the game isn't all that long)

I've read reviews of people who did not like the ending. And positive reviews of the game, I can't find one that says they liked the ending.

I'd recommend for this game the ability to unlock better endings with repeat runs or something, if the ending is very negative. Reviews and my experience playing the demo suggest the game isn't very long, so more ending choices could give one reason to play again.

people probably didnt like the ending because well... (without spoilers) its just very harsh and its very much the human condition in this setting. which can rub people the wrong way, but with how the story is told it all makes sense. i thought it was personally amazing and never would of seen it coming in any other game.

I found the ending to be incredibly emotionally impacting and its burned into my memory a year later. It's not a happy ending, and in my opinion is one of the best parts of the game. High concept Science Fiction, of the type you would read in a good novel.

I liked the ending quite a bit. It didn't fall into the usual HFY tropes, and didn't set up one big bad guy for the end. People who were upset the ending wasn't a cookie-cutter "You're the best hero and everything is saved forever" 'emotional reward' are operating on a mindset of drug addicts desperate for a fix, not gamers experiencing a story. It was a good dose of humility.

I enjoyed the ending but I feel its just way too short. It'd be nice if they had more to them so we can get more closure to them.

Ending bummed me out. The game has a lot of replayability but those endings sap all my desire to replay the game. If you want a comparison, think pre-extended Mass Effect 3 endings, god child and all.

Harlan Ellison would have been proud, a game where there are multiple endings but they're all varying degrees of defeat.

I kinda liked the ending.

First of all, it would be a cheesy one if it had a happy ending.

Second, let me remind you of the ending of the Legendary Fallout. It did not have a happy ending either. But it was the coolest.
