Need some help with the Dwarf Mines

Hey everyone - I am loving Legend of Amberland - such a great game. Though I am having a bit of a time with the Dwarf Mines north of the desert - there are these green, one-eyed creatures that instantly turn my party members to stone. My characters are current at level 24-25, I don't have a spell to revert my characters from stone, should I just leave this area be and try somewhere else? Or what strategy do you guys use for this section of the game? Any and all help is appreciated - thanks so much.

Get more paralysis resistance, even if it means equipping weaker gear for a while. That helps prevent petrification, which is important where you are in the game.
