Mods are not an essential priority, they are used to compensate for the lack of content. However, the T&LS developers are open to all suggestions and ideas. Including mods would penalize console gamers, and that's not the goal here when we know that the heart of the game is "Playing together".
As for DLC, it's optional, so think of it as support for the developers.
"Including mods would penalize console gamers" not necessarily they could implement same what Giants Software did with farming sim games, you have in game mods store that are compatible with console players and pc players, and you still can use other mods that are only made for pc players.
and i am 99% sure they did port for console players because lack of pc players wich i understand people compare this game to ets2 with lack of everything they wont even bother with this game.
having big modding community behind you helps alot, iwe seen in nummerous games games are alive only because modders are keeping them alive
Modding is something that we will look into in the future. We just do not have the capacity to support it right now.
Rather than spending months on modding (which you never know if people will even use, very few games have active modding) we want to prioritize our new coming content (DLC and Free Updates).
A very large part of our playerbase is console, so we would have to make a solution that works on console, which requires even more time. Modding would likely only consist of customization, not making vehicles and maps. That doesnt add too much to the average player.
Again we will consider it, however it is not a priority :)
Cheers!
Michael
Hello, now almost a year later there is still no movement as far as modding is concerned. Will it stay that way or are there still suggestions to do this?
no wonder people want mods.
at least with mods the game will continue to grow.
till we get new it will take years, you can see it from scs and ets2 content, it comes out slowly but each uptade we get alot new stuf.
witthout modding this will have paid dlc as an upgrade i can bet you
Map extension is in development but will take some time. It will be a free update.
