Report a translation problem
We rolled back to the August 2020 version (1.6),
after reports from users about a Kaspersky notification about our version 1.7.
So, the version that is on Steam is now free that any problem or notification.
We are running tests with the same Kaspersky, and it allows us to run our "offline" version of Stream Games, without any problems.
Notification occurs only when running through Steam.
We're checking that.
We ran tests with different versions and different shipping methods for Steam.
All tested versions are free from any Kaspersky alerts.
These indications lead us to believe that, some problem
during shipment via the Steamwork SDK, generated a failure or structure outside the security standard,
and resulted in the comparison of Stream Games to something infected by a trojan, by Kaspersky.
As I mentioned above, some error when sending the App to Steam caused the false-possibility in Kaspersky.
We recompiled and changed the mode of delivery to Steam, and Kaspersky itself started to recognize it as a secure App.

This happened after a reinstall of your game. steam has also directly denied access of the process.

If you are not able to solve this, this would be a high risk for us and i am not willing to tolerate such business practices.

Hello.
We conducted tests with Norton on our own PCs and we are verifying the processes for the SG to comply with Symantec specifications.
Regarding the risk, we checked StreamGames with Kaspersky and Kaspersky sees it as free from threats.
In addition, Norton prevents execution and leaves the file at 0KB, preventing any problems.
We submitted StreamGames to Symantec's WhiteList (Norton Producer):
https://symsubmit.symantec.com
The Symantec system reports that StreamGames is listed on its Cloud Protection: "This allows Auto-Protect and scans to search for file reputation information, as well as definitions, without the need for definitions on the disk."
.
We are looking at the process of how to update the SG on this Whitelist and remove these restrictions.
For now, Norton users will not be able to use Stream Games.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
If we can help with anything, please let us know.
Is there an update on this?
Pls fix it. Its so sad that we are not able to play this
Hello. Sorry for the delay.
I was checking some details on Norton alert, for some test.
To use Stream Games, you must Restore the file in the Norton Alert Details window.
This will return the StreamGames.exe file to its source.
When I restored it, I noticed that Norton highlights the TcpIp connection that StreamGames makes with Twtich's chat IRC server.
Which makes me think it might be the reason for the false positive.

It also reports that it was a heuritic detection, which acts in a "proactive" way.
I even checked the StreamGames project folder with Norton itself, and the scan results as ok.

I hope this at least gives you confidence in using the app.
Regarding Cloud Protection, we are still unable to update the application on the Symantec listing.
