Let us know, thanks.
Yes it freezes permanently. The mouse seizes up and I can't do anything. I've sat and looked at it for 10-15 minutes, and nothing happens. I can't exit the page at all to force close it, and the only way around it is to forcibly shut down the entire laptop.
So far it has only happened when I am progressing from one day to the next. There's seemingly no pattern or specific days it happens on. Sometimes I can play happily for an hour, but then there's other times where it happens 5 minutes in.
I have turned the graphic settings for FM19 to the lowest possible options, thinking this too. It didn't make a difference.
The laptop is fairly new, and this hasn't happened outside of FM.
My laptop can run other games that are much more demanding without any problems so I'm not sure what else I can try.
Okay first up try deleting your cache and preferences folders as shown here - https://community.sigames.com/faq/football-manager-2019/180_how-to/181_pc/how-to-delete-my-preferences-andor-caches-folder-r615/
Once you've done this, try again. If you still find you have the same issue, we'd suggest making sure your graphics card drivers are up to date and uninstalling your current drivers. Details on how to do this can be found here - https://community.sigames.com/faq/football-manager-2019/180_how-to/181_pc/how-to-update-my-graphics-card-drivers-r625/
If you're on the latest drivers, we'd still recommend doing a clean uninstall of them and reinstalling. Let us know how you get on. Thanks.
Thank you. I have just tried to delete the folders to see if this helps. Sometimes when I open FM, I get a pop up asking if I have the latest graphic drivers. I do, but for some reasons it looks like the game isn't recognising it because otherwise I don't think this pop up would appear.
I've never uninstalled any graphic drivers and I'm not particularly tech savy in that way so I'm a little nervous to try this if the folder deletion doesn't work!
Uninstalling and reinstalling drivers isn't as daunting as it sounds, but you should identify know exactly what type of graphics card you have before doing so. Quick way of seeing this below:
- Click Start or press the Windows key
- Type "dxdiag" (without the quotation marks), and then click OK.
- The DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens. Click the Display tab.
- On the Display tab, information about your graphics card is shown in the Device section. You can see the name of your card,
- If you have a second graphics card (which some laptops do) there's also a Render tab which will display information about your primary graphics card
Would suggest making a note of the make and model of each (for instance whether it's an AMD/Intel/Nvidia and whether it's say a Radeon 7700 Series, GTX 760 or HD Graphics 4000 for example).
