Coaching Badges
Every time I ask to start coaching badges the board denies as the club is in the red. They pay me £800 a week but the courses only cost £400, £600 etc. I'm sure I can spare £20 a week for a 4 month course so why can't I use these imaginary wages to fund my own badges? Makes no sense.

Oh FFS. Now I've just gone on holiday for the Russian winter break, returned and the game has decided to sign me onto a new contract, removing my possibility of negotiating it as a clause. Why would this happen instead of just ending the holiday?

This has been discussed in great depth previously, essentially to allow the manager to use their wages, you would also need to calculate everything else for a manager in terms of spending - cars, houses, family, pets, taxes etc. This would take it away from being a 'football manager' simulation and turn it more into a real life simulation which is not a directly we want to go in.

It doesn't need that depth at all though, you could safely assume a manager that wants to spend £400 over 4 months is capable of very basic budget management and leave it it that. something simple like a max spend of 2 months wages is better than not being able to train players effectively over a completely illogical barrier.

There did used to be management game where you could buy a house, a car, get married, pay for kids university etc with the wages you earned in game. Was OK-ish until the wife divorced me and took everything.

I agree with the original post though, it would be nice to get a 'self-funded' option when knocked back by the board, but cam also see the slippery slope that could follow.
