I do think there might be some differences when it comes to how much your team sticks to your tactics and instructions but I'm not sure.
I just stick with key highlights, there's usually enough throughout a match to see how your team are playing and what changes you might need.
Many players will watch full match to see how their tactic plays out over the 90 minutes, to see what their players behaviour is like even when there isn't an 'event' worth highlighting. A recent fan-poll on another forum suggested most of the members watched on Key or Extended highlights, but I suspect that was made up of very experienced players.
Personally, if I am developing a new tactic, or at a new club, I might watch full matches in 2d as I feel it gives me the best overall view of player movement and positioning but for the most part I am in Comprehensive Highlight mode.
It's like watching IRL football, what gives you the most information about a team? Watching a full 90 minutes live, or watching a ten minute highlight package?
It will make no difference to the result at all, but will provide you with more or less information about your team performance.
