Selling star players!!! Should I?
I have a few players in my team who are 28-31 years of age and playing excellent. But I'm afraid in a few years their value and ability will drop. So should i sell those player or keep them around as they are playing nicely. Around what age should i look for selling my players?

This is just my opinion, but I think it depends on your situation. For example, I am an arsenal fan, so I manage Arsenal. I usually sell star players when they reach 30 if I have youngsters in the team I want to develop and start playing in their position or if clubs are interested and want to give me a LOT of money for him, or even if it is easy to replace the star player with someone around as good but a lot less expensive. Although I do sometimes sell star players, I usually dont force them out of the club unless there is interest. For example, Ozil is about 30 and has really high wages, so most clubs wont want to buy him for a lot of money, which means I usually keep him until he gets too old to play.

All depends on the financial standing of your club to be honest. Some clubs I have to have the attitude that EVERYONE is for sale - if the right offer comes in. In which case I am busy creating a production line of decent youngsters to fill gaps.

Other clubs I fight to keep the best players and yes, I will play them until they breakdown and then perhaps look at sending them for coaching badges and hire the mas coach.

It all depends on the player and the club. If it is a team leader, club legend or has high Det attribute - I woulkd consider keeping them, playing them while they can still do a job and using them as mentors/good influences around the place.

If the club needs money, then they are for sale.

I always play a young team whenever I manage a top club. I don't get too attached with my players, everyone is replaceable, as long as another club is interested and willing to pay for his worth go for it. But make sure there's someone who can play in his role, be it an up and coming wonderkid or buy from another club. After all, there stats will decline more as they age.

Clubs financial situation is ok, but currently i have exactly 9 players in my club in that age where their stat is dropping. So my problem is , I don't wanna sit here with 10-12 slow and high salary players in a few years but I'm also afraid selling them would hurt my teams morale and the mentoring lineup. what should i do in this situation?
ps: all those players are performing nice currently.

It is worth pointing out that there is nothing wrong with keeping he player until they retire - as long as you have had value from them.

What have they cost you to have them n the first place? Have they contributed to the club' history?

The problem with 30+ Year old players, on high wages, is that they can be difficult to offload as no one will pay the wages, but if you can still get value from having them around then why not?

i understand that, i always kept my players until they retire or want to go by themselves. Always had 2-3 players who are old and kinda not performing but right now i have too many players going to that age. I mean 9-10 old players are a few too many don't you think?

It's not to much,, I always got these situations,, every 10 seasons or so,, I love when my player ends career in my club, I don't like to change my team too often, I like tu build dynasties..so when time comes, in one point I got many players in my team who are 30+yo, these players I use for rotations and point is that you on time developes young players in your young squads and in your first team also,, especially in your first team when you got some wonderkid, for exm. on MC position and your main MC is around 33-34yo, on the end of the season I always do some revaluations, will my old MC be good enough for next season for my first 11 or is best to give chance to that wonderkid (if his atts are high enough) so he can develope faster..

It's all about your good judgement what will happenes in next season,, I always do on that way, many years, old first teamer (33-34yo) I reduces squad status (tell him this) to rotation and that wonderkid I gave First team squad status,, although few times when in my team I have strikers who are also my best players I try to play with them until year of 39 or 40 (see my artwork screenshots, or screenshot gallery;)
Guess I'll keep my oldies then, thanks for the suggestions guys :)

9-10 around their 30s in a squad of 25 isn't a huge chunk to be fair - as long as they are still doing the job you want and tere is a decent age spread through the rest of the squad.. It comes down to your long-term transfer strategy which is what got you to this point in the first place.

Currently - You have an experienced squad of players and can turn this to your advantage. Build a 2-3 year plan, make decisions now about who you want to keep for the next three years, who you feel should be moved on, and what your squad should look like in three years. Plan to bring in/develop younger players to fill the older shoes and let them work together for a season or two.

A 2-player per year transition will see you right pretty soon without upsetting the dressing room and requiring large-scale transfer windows.

It depends, If you like that player, keep it and let him retire at your club. If not, sell it.
For example, in my Man Utd save, I sold tons of player even they played well (some not on purpose). I sold Sanchez before his 30, who got Apps 33(8)/Gls 10/ Asts 24 in a season, because of his high wage salary(compared to other player).
It is not hard to find suitable player in FM, so just do what you want:)

P.S.: I noticed that players tends to play in a team with tons of high reputation players than a hi-rep club. My Man Utd won all competitions in previous seasons, literally. And some of my first team players still want to join PSG that have some highest rep players like Neymar, Mbappe, Pogba.....
So, may be keeping some old players still have some good influence.
