I've done that. I still can't win. The best I can do is keep the game about even and then run out of time.
Im not sure what specific issue you have but the Dhong Zhou one was the easiest for me. Wuhang plains was very hard and and i'd to replay it again to see how i did it.
Edit: The event where he sends his army at you must be activated on your very first turn. still do it and just wait and take your time. you dont have to fight them and let them take a bit of territory, they wont destroy your city right away.
Thanks! I'll try this strategy.
Just make sure every area has a area overseer. The scenerio really showcases just how insanly strong the neighboring area bonuses are.
I beat the Anti-Dong scenario using your strategy. Thanks! Hopefully, I'll figure out Wuzhang Plains
So the issue I'm having with Wuzhang Plains is this:
As Zhuge Liang, I easily deflect Sima Yi's invasion. Once that is done, his base is rather low in strength (35k troops). I invade with 70k troops, but by the time I slowly get to him, he's built it back up to about 50k, and I'm running out of supplies. Morale gets so low that he kills all 70k of my troops and he's lost only 10k people.
Overall, he seems to be able to move a lot quicker than I am. I can't seem to maintain supplies for the journey.
When I play as Sima Yi, I can't get Zhuge Liang to invade. If I invade, I get the same issue as when I play as Zhuge Liang.
Zhuge Liang invaded an unimportant city, leaving only 18k troops in the city I needed to capture. I then sent 35k troops to a gate to prevent those 15k troops from joining the 18k troops. I then ordered 70k troops to invade the 18k troops.
Everything was going according to plan. Morale was great. They captured the unimportant city, which was great as it took troops and generals away from protecting their main city. My troops at the gate were keeping their troops from reinforcing their main city.
Once I got within like two turns from their main city, they sent out out but 5k of their troops to face my 70k. However, at the same time, I was running out of supplies (which is my consistent issue. I don't know how NOT to do this and field a force that can win). Within two turns they systematic wipe out all 70k of my troops with a 12k force. I manage to have one unit to attack their base for one turn.
I think once I understand how to increase supplies quickly, I'll be able to keep using this strategy. I might also not take catapults because these seem to slow me down.
Here is what i did:
Basically i just rushed Chang An after the Sima Yi event.
But the main point to win Wuzhang Plains as Zhuge Liang is to not waste the supplies you have, also to decrease the supplies expense rate.
I think in this scenario time is crucial because Sima Yi as the advantage in number of cities, also Chang An can be easily defended.
Here is what i did:
I developed agriculture in all bases
Went to administration an changed Jiang Wei as warlord;
also level up reorganize supply lines to lvl 7
Tried to defeat Sima Yi army(event) without losing too much troops then,
i captured ChenCang and build defense points so that the reinforcemnts from An Ding get delayed.
Then captured Mei to connect another supply line
Then rushed Chang An and won.
(Chang An had 36k troops at the time i attacked)
Units:
Wei Yan 15k fish
Ma Dai 14k fish
Jiang Wei 14k fish
Zhuge Liang 10k goose
Wu Yi 7k goose
Thanks, Insane! There's some things you mentioned there that I didn't know you could do.
