Edit function?

I see that it says on the season pass "waves" that it has "Edit Function" 3 times during waves 2, 3 and 4. Are we still able to create custom officers or do we have to wait for the waves to come out to do it? Also if we are able to right now, does anyone know what "edit function" means? Thanks (English version BTW, don't know if it makes a difference)

You can still make edit officers only the menu option has been renamed register original officer. As for what edit function means no information has been given yet which isn’t a surprise as the game was just released last month.

I imagine the edit function will most likely be the power up kit stuff. IE the cheats they usually have. Also maybe a scenario editor?
