I've started work on a mod/patch to fix the language issues

There's a readme in there that contains more information. It's basically just two small files.

As I'm still playing through the game, it only has issues that I've caught myself up until the end my first playthrough. The data in the game is all mixed around, so it's hard for me to work on without risking spoiling myself.

Beyond dialogue errors (things that are grammatically incorrect, contextually incorrect, or just plain awkward), I also cleaned up some of the menu elements. I hope nobody got too attached to "Start Bat." and "Free Bat."

I have not gone through to verify that each line displays correctly now since I'm more interested in playing the second half of the game at the moment, but the game loaded it without crashing, so I don't expect any issues.

Good luck in your endeavor! Personally i would rather you play through the full game before working on this anymore so you can enjoy the game and not be spoiled. When you finish it if they haven't cleaned up the dialogue themselves i'd likely give it a try.

That sounds awesome! Does this include using the original terminology for stages and names, like Child-Adult-Perfect-Ultimate and Xuanwumon, Zhuqiaomon, Baihumon, Qinglongmon and Huanglongmon?

Not right now. Currently the focus is purely on fixing grammatical/contextual issues. I am planning on a separate patch for that though.

I'm only on part 4, i noticed some weird way of phrasing some stuff and some really weird dialogues, but that's still kind of minor up until now.
Does it get that bad it needs a patch?

As for OP’s current work, I’ve been working on something similar, focussing on translation corrections. Upon checking, it seems we haven’t clashed in scripts yet: I have lots of corrections up to early part 3, which is only as far as I’ve gotten in my own playthrough, but you have none save for one line (which I didn’t edit, so I’ll need to recheck it when I get to NG+). Do you mind if I incorporate your edits when I get to the later chapters? (If you do, I’ll avoid looking at them and hopefully end up making similar but possibly not exactly the same edits myself.) I’ll try to make my own work in progress more public as well.

That line in Part 1 was in first person when it should have been third person. I checked the other languages to verify this.

Once you get to the end of Part 4, the errors start flying at you.

In Chapter 5 I noticed a lot of glaring errors such as using the wrong gender when referring to certain Digimon, to outright calling some Digimon by another Digimons name. It's the worst chapter I've played through so far (on 8 now) and while normally it's only slightly jarring, I do find the patch worth it to fix chapter 5 alone as that one is pretty bad.

I’ve released the first version of my comprehensive translation edit mod:

It currently covers the common parts and the Wrathful route, with some limited fixes for other routes as I haven’t personally played through them yet. As I resume playing, I’ll be editing the remainder and releasing new versions. My focus has been on translation accuracy and clarity, as I speak both Japanese and English: some of the mistakes are obvious even without knowledge of Japanese, but there’s a whole lot more where the official English script just sounds vaguely odd or nonsensical or even outright gives you the wrong idea.

Also, I felt my ability to write casual English wasn’t good enough to rewrite the Braided Girl’s gangster speech towards the Gray Hair Lady in the Prologue. If anyone can do that and turn it into something befitting a teen girl who is sort of bored of adults and their rules (which is what the original Japanese sounds like), I’ll be happy to include it.

Thanks! I’ve included your fixes and improvements, as well as those from other people’s mods. I haven’t modified any Digimon terminology as I want it to be separate, in order for people to have multiple options. For example, Gabriulio has an undub mod that’s currently being updated to include my changes.
