There are four major story routes, while the many smaller choices along the way do add some variety but always converge back together. And about two thirds of the game are the same in all routes, so if you want to read the whole thing, you’ll need to redo them several times. There’s a skipping function, but it doesn’t completely skip scenes that you’ve already seen—rather, it speeds them up.
Oh yeah, if you want more battles, there are training areas where you can initiate an unlimited amount of somewhat-random battles, although they’ll be, y’know, more or less the same a lot of the time.
