Even in the World series digimon die of old age.
pokemon and digimon often are lumoed as competitors digimon died down in the west a decade or two ago
digimon and pokemon come from the same period but difernt origins
digimons a tamagachi originaly they made a movie that was more a kaju fight and then a series its more action adventure than sport
pokemons dog fighting the anime
digimons based on comics dinosours guns cyborgs killing each ither
The series started in 1997 as a Tamagochi knockoff.
**Anime:**
Started in 1999. The series is more like an isekai adventure, wher children get spirited away. There are different seasons with different rules, but at most seasons the kids have a single digimon partner, more or less their soulmate. They survive fight and grow together, the evulutions don't stay after rookie level.
There are about 50-70 episodes in a season and every season is a finished story and a new universe except 1 and 2 and I think 6 and 7 (not sure I stopped with season 5 and there schould be 9). Every season is multiple story arcs with a Villain. I would say the first 3 seasons are highly recommendable. They tackle pritty adault themes. Like loss greef and isolation. Also the have a slight pinch of horror mixed in.
**The Games:**
The games at the beginning where more like a Babysitting simulator. As with the tamagochi your main struggle in the games was to give a good care to your digimon to evolve it in a setisfactory direction. If it pooped and ate it, you always got the worsed evulution possible. The fights where more giving it a general direction.
There where some rumblers (like smash), a pinball game, 2 different tradincard games.
Sibersluthe i didn't play but i heared only good things about, being more like a jrpg with lots of Visual novel between.
**Pokemon** was created in 1996 as the game series we all know about. The anime started in 1997.
They released pritty close to each other but went different rouds to get where they are today.
I hope this helps you and you can alway pin a post as an answer and close the discussion to stop herassment.
Edit: Well to think OP is not a troll was a foolish mistake for my part...
I still stand by my post except of the herassment part, after reading the answers of OP...
1: Digimon's Mechanics are incredibly different to Pokemon
2: Digimon Came first, but isn't as popular. Starting with bandais Tamagachi brand.
3: You aren't capturing monsters in this, you are befriending them. In most digimon Media, you are only allowed to "own" ONE digimon.
4: Digievolution is mostly Temporary. and works as a large power-up.
5: The story is soooo SOOO much darker than anything pokemon can come up with.
