Fangmon
I wish the game just treated him as more of a threat in battle as they do in the story, in the optional battles they just tell you to survive but you can easily take him out in two attacks without grinding, and he still acts like a threat. I get that it's completely optional but maybe do literally anything with it aside from a chance to drop slabs? In other games when they tell you to survive they mean it, and if you manage to fight and beat them you either get a really nice reward or absolutely nothing out of a long and tedious fight, Like llednar or the behemoth from Tales of the abyss. The game wants me to take it seriously but it's getting hard to do when absolutely everything including the big bad gets nuked to hell and back.

I forgot to include that maybe they could have done something similar to dorugamons fight? Players who found the spirit lamp are very obviously going to be on the lookout for more opportunities like that so they could have maybe had the actual fight stronger and each time you beat him it gets weaker? Or flip the tables entirely where he gets progressively pissed at you each time he loses and it makes the actual fight stronger. to balance out the evolution slabs you can get out of it

The game is not well made about these thing. It's the same in boss fight, you completly crush the boss, and you got a cinematic where your whole team is defeated. Ridiculous ...

Later bosses (Ch7+ onwards and also the True Route) are much better in this regards, with some even able to oneshot your Digimon who have type advantage against them.

I think it's more that the game is not designed for these things people are looking for. It's a visual novel, not Dark Souls.

Nothing prevents a VN from being consistent

Nothing warrants that a VN must pander to those seeking greater gameplay. If you want harder bosses, you're playing the wrong game. It's that simple. It's like wanting to fight enemies in Animal Crossing. It's a relaxing game - not exactly the kind of genre for that. Same with VNs. Their focus is on storytelling, not challenging bosses.

People need to get their priorities straight before hurling unfair complaints and criticisms.

Im nearly at 60 hours, i really know what im talking about ...
First the VN side suck, the story is poorly written and the character are stereotyped, and stupid 50% of the time. The "VN" where all my choices doesnt matter until the very end is a bad one.

Two, and why a fight couldn't be hard on a VN ? There's a rule about that? No, its a stupid thought.
The game claims to have 30% of battle, nothing prevented this 30% from being a success, but on the contrary, it is a failure, and by far, because there was no effort made on this side.
It's the very first game that i can auto in nearly every fight, every fight in ng+.

Three, you've gone totally off topic, I was talking about the mechanics of the "cinematics" during the boss fights. Not their difficulty.

Uh, no you don't. I stopped reading when you criticized the so-called "stereotype characters" because it tells me that you're not the target audience. The characters are a homage to the characters from the Digimon Adventure anime. If you don't like them, don't buy the game. It's not for you.

Uh, no it isn't. lol It's a stupid thought to want good gameplay on a VN.

Bruh I'm just saying it's a little hard to take the story seriously at times because of the combat why are you going off in all the wrong ways

That´s absolutely not true. VNs can have great gameplay. Sunrider is a great example where your battles (and results) actually matter.

Because some people just want to fight, nothing you can do about it :)
But your initial post has some good points. Unfortunately the battle system (and the results thereof) are not well made or that deep. I mean just look at how your Digimon always stay Rookie level in every sequence.
Just imagine your fought battle as a "what it should have been with digivolution" and the real scripted scene as "that´s what you get for staying on Rookie idiot" xD

Who cares what you're talking about when you're just whining about a game you don't like. ♥♥♥♥ off. Stop taking pleasure in raining on people's parade. Plenty of us Digimon fans love the game (especially on Reddit and Discord). Nobody gives a ♥♥♥♥ that you don't. You're a nobody crying to no one.

People are allowed to criticize the game, and that is what he did. He did not whine about it nothing, or complain about the game not doing/being what he wants it to be. He gave valid criticism about Game Mechanics and how they fail to flow into the Story presented, that is very valid criticism that the Dev could use to improve Games in the future. Other Companies looking to make a similar Game in the future could also take this to heart.

You are the type of Fan who blocks valid criticism that could help the Devs make a better game in the future because you cant handle someone saying something bad about the thing you love. This is not healthy for you, the Industry, or Digimon. Fans need to be allowed to provide valid criticism or nothing will improve.

Didn't bother to check your stupid-ass post 'coz I knew you would say something retarded, and oops, guess I was right.

Just because it can have great gameplay doesn't mean it needs to have great gameplay. Great gameplay doesn't really compliment the storytelling of visual novels that much. Visual novels have always been excellent storytelling mediums without the use of gameplay until gamer nerds start crying about wanting gameplay in VNs. Go play Call of Duty or Battlefield if you want your gameplay and maybe just quit whining about things you won't buy.

Except that it's not valid criticism, it's retarded and unnecessary criticisms that have never been needed for the visual novel industry for decades until Tweedle-Dee him and Tweedle-Dum you came along, stirring up ♥♥♥♥ for nothing.

yeah, there are at times I was like oh frick, whats going to happen to the kids and then the game be like "okay, break time. let's have a battle where the boss will stand still at this corner over here patiently waiting for you to move 3 spaces at one time." when the battle ended, i was half asleep with boredom.

then we have this clown over here claiming "great gameplay doesn't compliment storytelling in VN" not realizing how crap battles ruins this as a visual novel.
