Re: shipping, there was a recent thread on Freddit about this. It was generally agreed that it's okay to ship the characters that the animatronics are portraying (in a sort of AU), but not the haunted animatronics or the ghost kiddins unless it's G-rated, since they're kids. *Ew* on the Springtrap/Circus Baby ship. That's beyond wrong.
If you look through the older threads you'll eventually find the Mangle/Funtime Foxy gender debates, AKA deceased equines that suffered post-mortem blunt force trauma. Agreed, they're robots.
Anyway, glad you feel safe here and feel free to stick around.
But I want to make something clear, here - It's no use to debate someone if your goal is to belittle or reject their premise outright. The purpose of debate is to come to a truth via dialectics and conclusions based on observation.
So, for example, I claim that the Puppet is the Missing child killer, not Purple man (My most controversial read). If your response is to claim you know Purple Man is the Killer, I have every right to hear how you came to that conclusion and what your evidence is to the contrary.
Regardless of the outcome, we both come out in a superior position from where we were prior. You have heard my arguments to support the Puppet's guilt and Willliam's innocence in the missing child murders, and I hear your take on why you think William is guilty. If you shut out people to try to bully them from making counter claims (By insisting that you are correct by verdict of popular opinion), Then you are in an inferior position, academically, from where you started. You have rejected their premise and never considered their position and it's validity, or how their analysis could help prove your position or uncover faults in the basis of their argument.
For example, Rydi and I barely agree on anything aside from Freddy being a Bear and maybe the number of children that have died in the stores and our debates were epic back in the FNAF4 boards.
In arguing against her position of the Bite of '82, I learned that FNAF2's Fritz Smith could NOT be the bite victim, because the Paycheck is offset by 90 days, and FNAF1 taught us that means that Fritz died. I also had to learn how to reject Phone Guy's guilt, and I successfully identified William as the Purple Man before he was known as anything but "The CEO" (Prior to FNAFworld, let alone Silver Eyes).
Debate is a valuable learning tool. Respecting your opponents as peers can catapult your understanding much faster then putting your foot down and turning your nose up at them. The goal is not to "Win" as it is to Learn.
But yeah, it can be very singular and awkward at times with the ships.
