Mainly because the companies that Scott's working with for the other projects would handle the voice direction themselves.
I'm a little worried for the reporter now, because the last guy who recorded a message to help the next guy avoid repeating his failure...well, that didn't work out so well.
Then again, maybe the reporter and Phone Guy meet up on the flipside/in the afterlife. I ship them already.
Also, if what she's reading is actually a blog, that would suggest the game takes place...does some Google-fu in 1997 or later, since that's when the term originated.
