Does Matpat deserve the hate?

I watched most of his fnaf theories and i can agree with yall that they are really bad and they are wrong but should we really hate him? i mean its just a theory and he is making multiple theories about them because scott is always bullying mat and the fnaf community is forcing matpat to generate fnaf theories every milisecond.
so who is it to blame?
Game theory or is it just the FNAF community itself

Hecc it I'll throw in my two cents.

As far as recent events go, yeah I think he deserves criticism there. The whole reacting to hate livestream was bad, yes, but I don't think it was so bad it meant he's a terrible person that should burn in hell. His ego is really over-exaggerated, rarely do I actually see it in his content (unless you mean him saying how much work it took or how confident he is on this theory, in which case you're kind of stretching it). The merch is hit or miss, yeah the ads are long but they're only on videos so you can skip them as easily a regular YT ad, and underwear, while not going to sell any time soon, doesn't warrant more than a chuckle. A lot of this stuff is recent, but I remember that before all that there was a massive hate bandwagon against him (as a side note that's pretty ironic considering how large of a hate bandwagon FNaF itself has, so really you'd think most FNaF fans would sympathize with him but, eh, I guess since the fans also lynch anysign of a bad theory it's to be expected. Speaking of which. . .)

His theories are also hit or miss in terms of accuracy, but even if I know they're wrong I still enjoy them. His large amount of FNaF videos are probably the only point often brought up that I in no way agree with. If he wants to make FNaF theories, especially if his fans want to see FNaF theories, let the guy make FNaF theories. He isn't milking it, if he was he would be the next Smike, putting no effort into his FNaF videos (and no, the accuracy of the theory doesn't count. Just because he claims Mangle is possessed by a dog doesn't mean the entire video took way less time than his other videos. He still puts a lot of effort in them, that's what counts.) Plus most of his FNaF videos are multi-parters, so the actual theory count is way lower taking that into account (as for why he does this it's probably because he wants to have a video on the regular schedule as well as have consistent video lengths. Sounds reasonable to me.)

I would've written more, but I have to go soon, so that's all for now. If you wanna criticize him, that's fine, just don't go so extreme and say his channel needs to die like I see a lot of people (not necessarily here) do, the guy's only human.

To summarize the video, he purposely mislabel people's games into ones that are more popular like Undertale and FNaF to rack up a high view count and ad revenue, claiming that it would also boost popularity of the game as a getaway. Developers like Pirate Software and Direct Doggo are two of the people who are affected by this and are completely pissed that Matpat is fully aware that he's mislabeling the video for a higher view count instead of advertising the game as is.

He only "fixed " Pirate Software's video since Toby Fox called him out, and Doggo has yet to find a happy ending, showing that he will only listen if a bigger fish is swimming in the pool.

Most of you don't really care about MatPat and are trying to hop onto the hate bandwagon.

I genuinely liked matpat until I started figuring out some of the scummy ♥♥♥♥ he's done, and his attitude of "cash comes first" (which started up more recently than just being an all-time thing)

I mean, when you start mislabelling games as a deliberate attempt to get more views, put huge ads preceding videos you pretty much know are going to get tons of views, and have little to no respect for people in general (including artists), those are red flags that he's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ greedy rather than doing the show as a passion project.

I'm not saying there's nothing wrong with being like "hey, I need to keep the lights on, spare me a dime", but matpat uses less than honest tactics to try to milk as much cash as he can out of his dedicated fanbase in a way that makes him more akin to a corporation than a person.

if he'd show some humility, cut down on ads, and be more respectful to the people he practically depends on, I'd probably get back into his content. but as is, it's difficult for me to enjoy him.

not to mention he literally just ignores the theories he's made in the past when making a new fnaf theory, almost as if he's so desparate for a new fnaf video to ♥♥♥♥ out he doesn't have the time or wants to put in the time to try and explain why these new theories are correct and the older theories he is now ignoring are not correct...

you mean by getting his editors to do all the work for them(so he can also blame the editors whenever he gets in trouble), and stealing the theories off of other people.
