Ultimate Custom Night

Ultimate Custom Night

Some audio files don't play? (also a problem with FNaF World)
So this is a problem I originally had (and still have) with FNaF World, and I discovered upon installing Ultimate Custom Night that it was causing problems for that game too. The problem is that some audio files will not play. Now I’m not saying that I have absolutely no sound, no, there are still some sounds I can hear. But most of them are gone, and it’s making the game really unenjoyable. I’m definitely more leaning towards this being a problem with Steam or my computer rather than the game itself, but I still wanted to come here for advice since it was affecting this game.

This is what I can’t hear:
  • All music tracks (excluding the Marionette’s music box music it seems)
  • All post-death voice lines
  • Molten Freddy and Ennard’s sound cues (really important!!)
  • Ballora’s music (also quite important!!)
  • Rockstar Freddy's voice line (not as important but like still y'know)
  • Possible ambience
  • All cutscene audio
There are some sounds which I have not tested as of now such as Chica’s rustling in the kitchen, but this gives a pretty good idea of what’s going on. It really ruins the whole experience. As I said before, there are things I can hear too, which I will give you a list of as well.

This is what I can hear:
  • All jumpscare audio
  • The sound when you alter a character’s AI
  • The ‘A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES’ audio
  • Action sound effects such as putting on the mask, using the monitor, clicking buttons, shutting doors, etc.
  • Balloon Boy and JJ’s laughter + their disappearing sound effect
  • Fireworks and bell sounds after beating a night
  • The sound that plays when a powerup is unlocked
  • Picking up Faz-coins (pretty sure that had a sound)
  • Music Man’s cymbal clashing
  • Helpy’s air horn
  • Phantom Mangle’s screeching (haven’t tested regular Mangle yet)
  • Trash and the Gang’s whispering + bass (jumpscare?)
  • Old Man Consequence’s minigame
That might seem like a longer list, but remember the first list included ALL music tracks, ALL post-death voice lines, and ALL cutscene audio. Which takes away from the experience a lot. Also, as with the last list, this probably didn’t cover everything, but you get the gist.

And it’s not just audio apparently. Some of the missing audio seems to actually affect the visuals of UCN. Three examples I can think of are:
  • Dee Dee will not appear when she summons a new character, most likely because her singing audio is missing
  • During the anime cutscenes, the screen with Mangle in Foxy’s temple is almost immediately skipped over, most likely because the anime audio is missing
  • Mr. Hippo’s cutscene is almost immediately skipped over, most likely because his audio is missing
This makes the problem even worse than it already was.

I’d really appreciate it if anyone could give me some advice on how to fix this, because it really ruins the whole game when audio is such a big part of it. If anyone would like me to list my problems with FNaF World as well, I’ll happily comply.

    Thank ya!

Hey! I haven't played Fnaf world, altough I have the exact same problems as you just mentioned. It basically just makes the game harder for me, since I have to check the cams for things i schould otherwise be able to hear. I haven't found a fix for it though.:steamsad:

Darn. Well, it's sort of nice to know that I'm not alone.

Oh my goodness. I finally found someone with the same problem as me. It's actually the same situation with all 8 FNAF games for me. Has anyone found a solution yet?

Welp after 3 years still no fix
I have exactly the same problem except with one difference from when you spend a night not tonight. I’ve read something about turning on a spatial sound in Windows 10 but I haven’t checked.

I would like to return to this ancient post to say my issue was likely just due to having a terrible computer that couldn't process everything in the game, after getting a new computer everything runs perfectly. I doubt theres another fix for this if you have a similarly poor computer
