Proof that the main character in UCN is William Afton?
I just reviewed one of the Marionette's lines when he jumpscares you, and it points towards William Afton being the main character
"I recognize you. But I'm not afraid of you. Not anymore."
This is because of how William killed the child outside of Fredbear's Diner, then the child merged with the Marionette.
(I'm sure there are other lines pointing towards this being true as well).

I also heard Jack O Chica say something along the lines of “My soul burns eternally, and so does yours!”
Exactly
There's a lot of evidence that the main character is William Afton, but people haven't really analysed it yet.
I mean if you think about it, UCN being the spirits and animatronics being repurposed to torment William and make him go through the same hell hat Michael had to go through for eternity makes a lot of sense.

We play as phone guy.

I Promise, in FNAF6 and UCN, we play as phone guy.

"Leave a Demon to his Demons" IS a reference to Afton. Afton is responsible (But not the killer) of every death in the Five Nights universe that we have seen. He is the Demon, but Phone Guy followed in his foot steps along the way and didn't, nor could he have, fixed the mistakes that Afton makes through the series.

Phone Guy is always talking about taking up the role of Night Guard in every game he has a voice. The Purple Man with a badge IS Phone Guy.

He is responsible for Victim's death, because Victim considered the Classic Animatronics his friends and Phone Guy loved the classic characters. So, when Victim's friends and siblings died in FNAF2's missing child incident, Phone Guy took the classics out of retirement, with haunted masks, and they tried to literally shove him into the Golden Freddy Mask.

The puppet never had a reason to fear William Afton. The child didn't but should have. Not the puppet herself. After William killed her, there is Nothing William could do to her, She is Already Dead. Phone Guy, on the other hand, COULD do something that no one else could; He could take her 'friends' away from her. He did it to the classics, He did it to the Toys, but now, she doesn't have to worry about that.

"The others are under my protection, now" - The Puppet.

"The others are like animals. But not me, I'm Very Aware" - The Puppet.

Also, Phone Guy is the only character in all of FNAF who EVER questions the puppet.

"I'll be honest, I never liked that puppet thing; It's always Thinking. And it can go Anywhere" - Phone Guy.

Phone Guy should have died in FNAF1, but seeing as he is the only character in FNAF who knows how to wear a spring suit, and we hear Golden Freddy in his office in that last call, and he knows that the animatronics are trying to shove him into a suit (Remember, He is tries to instruct the player to play dead, but thinks better of it. He worked through the FNAF2 era, when they knew the mask was all that was needed to keep the animatronics at bay). The obvious solution for Phone Guy is to put on the Golden Freddy Costume for his protection.

Thus, Baby recognizes him, but didn't expect him to find him there (She would have expected Micheal, since he was the guard in every other game).

Thus, Afton is surprised that catching Phone Guy was easier then he thought (Since phone guy did an iron man challenge of the entire series, when Night Guards have a slightly shorter life expectancy of over ripe bananas).

And, Henry didn't intend the job for him (The job listing was for a random shmuck that would do their job and forget everything about Fazbear Entertainment. Instead, Phone Guy gets his last hooray as a Franchisee. Note that he has three college funds to pay for the package, since Foxy, Mangle and Victim died). But, Henry is pretty confident that Phone Guy would like to be reunited with his family on the other side.

This explains why all the evidence for 'the one you should not have killed' leads to Victim, when Victim was the only character that William DIDN'T kill in the Purple Guy is the Killer theory. Phone Guy didn't mean to kill Victim, but he IS responsible for Victim's death. That's why the Nightmare animatronics say they were rebuilt (Like Phone Guy bringing the classics out of retirement), but not by YOU. They are the nightmares of Victim.

Finally, This is Phone Guy's Sisyphusian boulder. He was the head of security, Not William Afton. He is supposed to keep everyone safe, but failed miserably at that task. Now, he is asked to do what he asked everyone of the guards who died at Fazbear's with the promise of a minimum wage paycheck to show for their efforts. This explains why Afton and Spring Trap... exist... while he just hears recordings of himself. Everyone gets new lines, except Phone Guy.

And this time, the kids he failed to keep out of harms way, including his own children, can torment him with reminding him of his failures.

He didn't know his daughter possessed Mangles mask when they decided to make her a 'tear apart, put back together' attraction. That's a really... really... ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing to deal with, if you were a parent.

Remember, Fnaf IS a tragedy. Not just a horror story.

First of all, thank you for posting evidence along with your theory, definitely something interesting to look at.
Second of all, not sure about this one, but it seemed like you posted said theory here so you wouldn't get a lot of hate from the rest of the community, which I can appreciate. Just know that if the Phone Guy really did play that kind of role in the lore, it would make a HUGE impact on the story.
Finally, I can appreciate the work you put into this theory, but I'm not the right person to evaluate the theory you proposed; you could try asking somebody else on the forums for advice (even though you'd probably get hate for it).
Either way, well thought theory! Thanks for sharing!

purple guy is not phone guy

and he didn't take the old animatronics out of retirement to kill BV, Bite Victim was shoved into Fredbear's mouth by his older brother and his brother's friends to try to scare BV, but Fredbear's jaw clamped down and killed BV, they didn't just shove him into a haunted mask

I didn't even read any further because of how bad this theory was so far

Purple Guard is Phone Guy -

Purple Guy and Purple Man have always been the umbrella term for the purple sprites in FNAF. So, before you try to hit me with a MatPat refutation, I understand and am well aware that Scott refers to 'Pink Guy' as Purple Guy.

That's not the distinguishing characteristic between Purple Man and Purple Guard. All the evidence that pointed to Phone Guy being purple man stands strong if you separate the two characters, not by hue, but by the Badge. Purple Guard in SAVE THEM is holding a phone, Phone Guy is a guard, Phone Guy would be at the store after it closes but before the animatronic night mode kicks in (Considering that he prerecords the messages for you). And he didn't see the bodies, because they were all left in Shadows (If you compare where the bodies are in the mini-game with the camera's angles, each child is in an area of deep shadow).

I never refuted Purple Man as being the CEO. Even back in FNAF3, when I first started posting on the boards, I refuted the Purple Guy is Phone Guy theory and the random serial killer theory, vehemently. Too my knowledge, I was the only one pointing fingers at William before he had a name. (This was due to the fact that William would have been the only one that had a reason to kill a child at Fredbear's. The store used to be owned by someone else, and then a child was murdered outside of their property. Then it was owned by Fazbear's Entertainment. This only makes sense if the motivation for the murder was to force Fredbear's to sell).

I also speculated that Purple was a signifier that someone was working for Fazbear Ent., and sure enough, when we find out that Afton was responsible for the death of Elizabeth, we get a scene of William, in his car, going to his house, but being Orange instead of Purple.

The Children haunt the masks, not the Animatronics

The animatronics stuffing night guards into suits is the explanation that the animatronics reeked of death. I can't imagine that would smell pleasant in any circumstance.

Further, since the 'Animatronics are out for revenge' argument is inbound, We are told twice that the animatronics are confusing the night guard with an endoskeleton. If the animatronics were truly out for revenge against Purple Guy, Why does the mask work to protect us? Surely, the blood thirsty befouled children wouldn't kill hundreds of guards, thinking that THIS TIME it really is purple guy, right?

I have had this argument a few times, if you can't tell.

In order of game releases;

In FNAF1, The animatronics head shake, not the bodies, on night four and beyond. Freddy appears in posters, trying to rip his head off. The masks were said to bleed blood and mucus, not the animatronics as a whole. The hauntings cause the empty masks of Bonnie and Freddy to appear with 'IT'S ME'. Phone Guy wonders what is in all those empty heads back there, in the night 4 phone call.

In FNAF2, we wear a mask to protect ourselves in a game that introduces the full cast of animatronics, save Spring Bonnie. Mangle can not have a child stuffed inside of her, due to his lack of casing. In GIVE GIFTS, we see the puppet put mask on the children, not shove them into suits. Also, the facial recognition software is a bit of a pun; When you wear a mask, you can't recognize your own face. Hence, it fails after the Toys are haunted. And while we are on the topic, Why do the toy animatronics attack first if they aren't possessed yet, while the withereds are waiting patiently.

If the speculation held water that the Withereds ARE the classics, and were possessed, and were out for revenge, they should attack BEFORE the toys, since the Toys become possessed on night... 4(? I'll check when I go home tonight, Lunch break and don't have my notebook on hand. Our IT department doesn't like it when I'm on steam). Instead we see the inverse, because the puppet awakens Freddy after the second MCI.

In FNAF3, Good and Bad ending all show the empty masks either lit or unlit respectively. The happiest day minigame shows the masks falling to the ground when the last child dons a mask. Spring Trap also tries to rip off his mask, like Freddy, but this isn't as significant. Also, in the Puppet's Box, we see the masks of all the children who haunt us.

And Finally, in FNAF4, We see children wearing masks, and have NO reason to believe they are Alive. Their eyes glow (Admittedly, so does phone guy's, so a wash), their dialog is disjointed and awkward. All the evidence I have provided here has shown us that NO child is ever seen alive and wearing a mask, and no masks are for sale in any scene with merchandise. This is how Victim sees the haunted animatronics. Big Kids, wearing masks. Thus, my judgement that; A) Victim loves the classic animatronics, just like his dad B) Phone Guy had the original, classic and haunted animatronic masks, C) So, when Victim's sister and friends died before his birthday at FNAF2, D) Phone guy brought the classics out of retirement, for his son's birthday. Which ultimately results in E) The animatronics lift Victim into the mouth of Fredbear, and he becomes the Bite of '87 victim.

Thus, Phone Guy feels guilty for the death of his son, and is literally haunted in purgatory for doing what he always did. Surviving night after night, and witnessing each and every child victim of Fazbear's. Kids he was supposed to protect and Failed.
