game doesn't recognize my xbox controller

I can press A when it asks me to hold to confirm something when the game just loaded.
But when It promts me to press A to play at the titles screen with the animations, the game doesn't register my input of the A button or any of the other face buttons.

My triggers do register to fast forward/rewind the animation. My controller works perfectly fine in any other game in my steam library. So its just this game.

Anyone else have this issue or a fix for this?

same issue here, it lets me do my place marker, but i cant go back to it, also my right stick doesnt register for tricks

It's doing the same thing to me. It will allow me to hold the A button to confirm, but it won't let me actually hit A to play the game. Kind of annoyed. I just wanted to try this one out, but I literally can't lol.

Same here...literally never once encountered this before....joy. Close to just refunding the thing. Beyond annoyed.

Thing that worked for me:
Step 1: launch game (do not touch controller)
Step 2: Wait 30 sec. - 2 minutes (still do not touch controller)
Step 3: after waiting a couple minutes, hold "A" to proceed through the menu to start the game

This happened to me on my first launch with a Dulashock 4, but relaunching the game fixed it for me
