My strategy: one infantry platoon on board of Dragon One and moving before the convoy (Boar One) the other platoon saves the backs. When anything happens - move Dragon One, unload infantry, move Dragon One to flanking position. Artillery!! Boar One can leave supplies (ammo and fuel) and Dragon One can medevac the wounded. Later on use Red One since it is quite powerful.
As I noticed convoy doesn't inform you when they moved checkpoint isn't?
Also I confused that convoy reset orders to move if they contact with enemy.
This is very routine mission IMHO. enemy just respawn from sky during road (I used technic and helicopter as scouts and they didn't see enemy, but convoy moved after them - and soldiers in road). Plus as I said its a little tired to control convoy. This game is strategy of undirect management, but convoy is undirect management in undirect management :)
I enjoyed previous missions, but after this I got a pause because I need recharge before will play again. Just my opinion, I like this game in general and hope for more options and new games in other wartimes
They are not spawning, they are hiding and waiting to attack certain units. They will pass Dragon One and they will attack trucks and infantry. You can't spot them from air unless they open fire. Well... Welcome in Nam :) PS. I personally consider this mission as the most difficult in the game ;)
this worked for the first half of the map for me then everything was out of range, no big deal, the 2 infantry and dragon one still made short work of most encounters.
that mechanic was not explained clearly and i didnt see any option on the Boar One radio calls to do such a thing, my Dragon One eventually ran out of fuel because i made a mistake on sending them to base instead of advancing to a position (they got half way across the map and i had to double time them back) and they were making calls that they were low on ammo
my biggest gripe about this mission though is that i cant just tell the convoy to advance to a point (or at least advance to a set point along the route they are traveling)
i get that its because of triggered events along the road it self, but i lost a lot of my strategy by not being able to set a point to where they could advance to. made it much harder to keep track of the convoy vs the position of my men, i was surprised when Boar One said they saw a squad and were under attack, and when i got their position it seemed that they floored it past all my troops who were getting reorganized after a battle because at some point i guess i forgot to tell the convoy to stop
ie keep the VIP in the back while moving the armed forces up front, instead ive got to play a guessing game to red light green light the convoy truck doesnt drive past Dragon One
So what the hec am I supposed to do. It felt impossible to beat.
Are you playing on commander or veteran?
Veteran
Hard as hell
Can devs explain more on the challenging fight option and is it better to toggle it on or off for the most realistic experience... by the way Love the game :)
Oh forgot about that setting. Agree, would be nice to know more about it.
Me as well... I love the game and concept.
Maybe they are full or sth? Hm.. I've never encountered this problem.
BR!
