Yes, that's basically correct. They will inform you, but as Dbrn said, it is up to you what to do. You are the commander ;)
Ok, we can look at this closely. Thanks for feedback!
Agree on both actualy.
The unit is in a jungle. One of the guys are hit in the leg, wounded and have a hard time moving. It is logical and humane to request medevac and I think they should continue to request it.
But maybe in different terms, and make the commander able to reply something, for immersion. "Papa Bear, we have wounded. Request medevac when possible". Or "Papa Bear, request evac asap, deadly wounded and not able to proceed".
And optional replies like "Acknowledge x wounded. Evac not possible, continue mission". Or "Evac not available, over".
True, but as you said, they are in the jungle. Even an inexperienced unit would know that you can't just fire a chopper into any old place. Perhaps it should be terrain dependent, and more of a statement (we could do with a medivac for our wounded) instead of a demand for instant help.
I also think the shout for general evac needs to be looked at. I often hear this with seconds of a firefight starting, when my unit has favourable terrain, more men, plenty of ammo, and is fresh and previously in good spirits. If it's morale dependent then there is clearly a problem, because in the above situation there should be nothing wrong with their morale after 5-10 seconds.
They tell me they outnumber the enemy, are winning and morale is high, then they scream for an evac - when what they seem to want is a med-evac.
How am I going to know when they want a full evac? It gets very tiresome having to hear that message and then ask "yeah, yeah, but now I have to ask for your status to find out what KIND of evac you really want!"
As suggested, a notification of wounded that require med-evac when possible would be SO much better.
But that still doesn't really explain why they ask for a full evacuation in a panic and then 30 seconds later tell me that Charlie are all wiped out
