I don't have a copy of Radio Commander and want to test it on Linux, but I won't be contacting you on Discord about that for a couple days yet, as my friends and I are currently busy with zombies. But I look forward to this and it has been bumped to the top of my next-game list!
Sure, stay in touch :)
I've just played the first mission. Here are bugs I found and a few suggestions:
1. If you release the space bar while moving your head (in the tent interior view), the headset will stay picked up.
2. I couldn't save the game. The save button does nothing.
3. In my first playthrough, after burning the camp, Alpha stuck in the "unable to move in this state" state. I had to restart the mission.
4. After burning the camp, if you order someone to move to the village or the LZ, they will use a wrong Y coordinate (888)
5. After the engagement, the 36-man Alpha platoon reported 26 men, no KIA and 10 wounded. Are wounded no longer men? :)
6. In my opinion, numerical stats like spirit, base attack, etc. harm the immersion and overall feeling of the game. I suggest an option to replace the numbers with adjectives like mediocre/good/outstanding.
7. You have probably thought about that, but there are a few wonderful features in the game Radio General that are missing in your game. First of all, the speed bonus on roads and getting lost in forests.
There is also a thread in the Radio General hub with my suggestions. You can use them too.
Thank you Dante!
1. The headset bug is also seen sometimes in the Win build.
2. Broken saving is probably the biggest problem here.
5. Yeah, wounded are not fighting in our system, so we're reporting only those who are ready to fight.
6. Stats should be visible only on replays or when cheats are active.
7. There are terrain modificators to unis' speed, defense etc. in RC
I mean the numbers in squad management.
A few more notes:
8. Hitting Tab during a message to which you need to respond sometimes breaks mission progression. For example, in mission 4, if you skip Delta's reports from within the camp, you get stuck with the "infiltrate the camp" objective.
9. There is no way to cancel an order to artillery or CAS if you accidentally release the space bar (or when the HQ window is popping up with a mission update while you are giving an order). You can only pray that the random coordinates are far enough from friendlies.
10. Sometimes it's impossible or very hard to select a desired object on the map. I want to move a chip, but instead I rename another chip or move a ruler. i.ibb.co/XXVnXDs/cluttered-map.png Also, placing a chip on top of a ruler is the only way to move it without changing its angle.
11. Pigeon Six should report enemy contacts for the last time before leaving the area.
12. Cannot dismiss a vigorous junkie or move him to the reserves. https://i.ibb.co/pvHYNZT/junkie.png
Ok. And about saving, can you tell me more? E.g. are you able to continue the campaign after finishing given mission and then turning off na on the game?
A few more bugs and suggestions:
13. In the mission Free-Fire, the option not to leave soldiers in a village blocks the mission progress. Nothing happens after you visit the last village.
14. In the same mission, Dragon One has enough fuel to only travel 20 or 30 km. IRL the operational range of the M113 is 480 km.
15. You can order an infantry platoon to board Atlas, which causes the platoon to get stuck on its coordinates until the end of the mission.
16. In the mission Why We Fight, even after Echo is found, you still can only order them to move along a direction.
17. All in all, the campaign seems a bit too strictly scripted. This is a strategy game, and more freedom in choosing a strategy would have been a great advantage for the gameplay.
18. Cowboy One doesn't report when its cool-down is over.
19. You can't interrupt someone over FM radio like this.
20. It should take at least a couple of minutes while the artillery aims and while the shells reach the target. Right now artillery feels like a cheat.
21. It wold be more convenient if the correct order variation (load/unload, land/lift off) were selected automatically.
22. In the mission Convoy, Boar One once managed to move directly from waypoint 7 to 8, across the destroyed bridge.
23. The Red One leader has a bigger portrait in squad management than the other leaders.
24. If you transfer a soldier from Alpha to another platoon, after the mission 7 you either can't interact with him anymore, or an attempt to move him will duplicate him. This way you can get a bonus to stats several times.
25. There should be an option to move a soldier to the reserves. Right now you can't unassign a vigorous soldier at all.
26. After waiting in the queue to report, units sometimes give outdated reports.
27.It would be nice to have more information about reinforcements before starting a mission, so that you can plan your first movements ahead.
28. If you give 2 orders before waiting for a response for the first one, the static noise reappears while you are still talking.
Thank you Dante!
Very detailed tests indeed!
Hi! At this moment Linux version should also be available in the main branch :)
Congratulations and Thank You!
I have just purchased the complete edition.
