White Star-Spawn Strategies?

So it turns out just examining that tome was a bad idea. Is there a trick to defeating a white star-spawn, or is it just that it's way too high-level for me?

I guess the best way is to equip Mythos artifacts that increase damage and movement speed... and a character like the detective with the rifle that has long range.

And try and face him in a place thay gives you enough room to run around as you shoot him.
