Stuck on Chapter 2 with the Professor. EDIT

I can't make it through the jungle level with the Professor, even with a good amount of power. I am on Normal mode with a Plasma Focuser and decent gear that increases stamina/energy. All of the enemies eat me alive and I can barely make it through 4 rooms without using all of my resources. The shield gets drain in 2 seconds with 5+ Sub-Niggurath spawns shooting their bullets. The AoE blast helps a little but that drains the shield as well. I don't know if I have to "get gud" so to speak or if this game has one devilishly steep difficult curve going into later chapters.

EDIT: Sorry that I haven't been paying attention to this thread. I did get through Chapter 2 with the Professor and I have fully completed the game. I really enjoyed it and I would like to say to the devs that you made a great game. Thanks for being so responsive and helpful in the forums.

Yes i think the difficulty Jump is a little bit too high.

Finding full ice prot + freeze prevention helps, but even so, you can die in an instant. The difficulty spike is indeed too high.

Yes it is. I set it on easy and manage to make 1 or 2 Rooms till Game over :/. Kind of frustrating now. I dont want to take the Pro Players their Success but if i set it to easy it shouldnt be that hard.

Maybe its designed that Way that you should farm Items and Money/Whisdom with the other Characters and come back later to the Jungle with the Doc. Its worth a Try ;-).

Bruh, the professor doesn't do enough damage w/ upgrades to beat rooms with regenerating enemies (Like a certain graveyard with summoning cultists).

I have to agree, I love the game playing as the detective, playing as the professor is actively making me hate the game though.

Edit: welp, I succeeded with the professor, but I still find him to be the worst character by far.

I have to agree. There have been a couple of rooms with the four legged enemies, the dark young, and the freezing two legged serpents, that feel less like a horror themed rouguelike and more like a bullet hell.

Same here. I just quit the game due to this level. It's ridiculous even on normal. I tried to just rush to the boss to get past it but it's just another room full of enemies that spam me with every status effect possible and I die in two seconds. Combined with the game breaking secret area map bug on Switch I think it's time for a break until some patches. I really loved the detective play through. It was moody and a lot of fun.

I have to agree that the jungle seems like a way too steep difficulty climb, both my professor and my witch run came to a screetching halt in the jungle.
