Center Tile Missing?

Hey so i purchased the game and was pumped to play however any mode i'm in (including Tutorial) there is no middle tile on my ship to attach/weld pieces to? am i doing something wrong?

Same here. There is no "Highlighted Square" to place the first tile. Whole ship turns red.

Fixed the problem by reselecting a colour in the main menu under your profile. Still returned the game as friends were having issues with crashing constantly
