My 2 Cents
Hi i thought i'd go ahead and make a thread on what i think of the potential of this game and what should be done, now it's just my opinion and im not a game dev and havent really put much hours in yet so feel free to ignore but here are some points i think need to be considered

1. Dont sacrifice for mobile, i understand they wish to port to mobile and if it works thats great but please don't make it a case of we cut this feature from pc because it wouldnt work on mobile, it'd be much better to have pc only features than to sacrifice possibly great things for mobile performance.

2.Mods are your best friend,i know its been stated the game will support them but i think everyone can understand how it cant be understated point that mods are the lifeblood of games like these, i cant even imagine playing stock ksp at this point, when its at all possible when designing anything for the game make it moddable or atleast not designed against potential modding, the amount of value this game has already with its built in customization can explode if truely wild and extensive mods can be devoloped. If i wanna be a train conducter on mars it should be possible for a mod to do it (exageration obviously but you get the idea, if mods arnt limited who knows whats possible).

3.Lets face it most people who are here have played or at the bare minimum know of ksp, but lets also be honest for those like me and im sure the devs as well, we love it, but at the same time its more tolerating than true love, while an amazing game, the number of faults that can be found cant be ignored from bugginess to horrible performance on even great hardware, limited real mod support, the reason ksp is as big as it is comes down to simply, what else is there to choose from. I know sales numbers at the end of the day are what decides what happens to this game, but at the same time all that really needs to be done atleast initialy is make a less buggy, more optimized, more mod friendly ksp, then even if only a fraction of the players of ksp switch over thats still hundreds of thousands of sales, which would more than allow further development to make this the best space game out there. Obviously it can be far more than these things and already is on the path there with the amount of customization built in, but i figure thats a bare minimum foundation, though im sure thats what the devs are already aiming for, otherwise why make a game like this if your fully satisfied with ksp.

4.I truely see this as a potential game changer in the realm of space games, but it needs to understand its going into a market dominated by a single aging competitor, if it can manage to capitalize on the faults of ksp, then it has the potential to sieze enough market share that it's finacially viable to develop this game to the point it deserves. I know this argument seems pretty comparative to ksp and obviously they are in way different time lines of development, but small indie games like these live and die on wheter they get enough sales to develop to their full potential, and there is a huge difference between what kinda timeframe the team can develop the game with sales in the thousands compared to sales in the hundreds of thousands or more. I really want if the devs are willing and able to see 2-3 years down the line some wild new feature for this game released in my news feed and someone like scott manley talking about how much better it is compared to old ksp.

Sorry if this has been quite long just figured i'd give my 2 cents.

Hi,

This part is the curse of so many PC games

sacrifice for mobile

Sadly i don't see how it could not curse SR2 as well, as long as they want to go on Mobile, or even consoles.

We are fully committed to a proper PC experience. We will not cut PC features for the sake of mobile. When we start working on the mobile version, we will cut out what won't work on mobile and rework the UI as needed.

I know a lot of people get concerned about this, and believe me... i totally get it. I've been a huge PC gamer ever since my family got our 486 and King's Quest 6. I've been disappointed before by PC games that made sacrifices for the sake of multi-platform (console) releases. We will try our best to not let mobile limitations impact a fantastic PC experience.
