Post your prologue beating build or tips?
There's no guides in the guides section yet but why not some of you slick willie veterans help the silly noobs just by letting us know what "worked" for you? Its a ton of choices, So far it sounds like 2 handers and kiting into walls and whatnot. Thx in advance for your build tips!

Someone beat it?

I had a nasty surprise, then I died.

Mace and shield build with all skill points into the mace tree and all stat points into strength.

Build ? It doesn't matter. What weapon you find, you take such skills.
In general, the victory largely depends on the quality of the weapon, once I got claymore, so the boss received 100 crit.
You may want to teach staves, but you will not find one.
Victory over the boss depends on tactics.

take geomancy and place the pilars before the boss is triggered. if you place two pilars in front of the spawn you get rid of the monsters that are coming at you because they get blocked.use rolls of identification not for every weapon. flasks could really be more useful in the fight

Haha, we all randomly stumbled upon the best build - staffs or maces + geomancy. I threw in some shield skills and I barely took any damage.

what i did to beat it....dont forget you can swap weapons...main weapon 2handed sword swap weapons sword and shield. main harashing enemies spaming fire spells, move back.
close door stand behind it and if they open door close it again...you do this x amount time your health regeneration kicks in.
i open door if enemy is further away i cast 1 spell and close door :D

Bow/greatsword combo worked well for me. Take aim skill, maybe evasive jump (the one in bow tree), rush attack with the greatsword and whatever else you feel like. Dump charpoints into perception and strength. Start each battle with a few arrows, so by the time you get into melee enemies are typically at ~half health. It's a bit of a glass cannon, but it kills any single enemy in the prologue in ten turns at most. Avoid getting crowded, though; corridors are great for that.

The boss is trivial after you understand how his attacks are telegraphed. Break the left statue, then break the right one (it'd be a lot more difficult otherwise) and then just stay out of AOE attacks and rush him when you get the opportunity.

I killed him with fireballs and a very decent sword. You just need to hit and run all the time, making sure to always stay far away. If you're lucky enough to find a bow and arrow, too, they do a lot of damage per hit.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

All of the bosses damage is telegraphed. Don't stand in blood puddles, don't stand in his charge path. If he charges into objects he gets stunned so try and bait him into doing that. You can right click on the boss to see what all his abilities do

Your build shouldn't really matter.

Any crushing or strong weapon + Shield

Everything on Strength and shield tree funny with the raise shield i get around 80% block chance most Melee enemies are easy peasy but spells.....

Got the boss of the prologue in two tries

fire barrage cause you are forced to take it and bow n arrows with a axe/shield for melee bow take aim and distracting arrow as everyone says stay outta the puddle left vs right first don't get crowded by the zombies and by the time you enter the abbey before the boss battle you should have saved the stoneskin potion when you got the new bow
