Lazy AI Upscale

If you're going to update a cult-classic game years after a perfectly fine port, you want to make it better, not worse.

This current AI upscale looks terrible and clearly just rushed in. Keep the QOL fixes, but just remove all the ai nonsense please.

You can't just have the improvements without the AI currently. And fixes below in this Discussion board do not work to remove the AI in cutscenes.

Had to make my review Negative.

I'd rather make a point in the hopes that they completely remove the AI, then just take it and hope they fix it without any backlash (they won't, backlash is required)

And this is a cult classic, the fanbase is already very small. So if people actually complain this time, then theres a chance they'll remove all the AI nonsense and keep the qol instead. Theres inherently a lot less "yOuRe nItPiCkInG"

I see a lot of recent negative reviews about this, is there a befor and after comparison video somewhere? Haven't found anything on Youtube.

Also if they update the FMVs, do they not have access to the original video files for this? I find this stuff always confusing with re-releases, like when Nintendo does it even though they have a vault with all of these assets in the highest resolution possible available.

No video (the game really is a cult classic, so its up to the fans to really get the negativity spread to actually have a change happen).

But there are a ton of images in this link if you scroll through them.

And the cutscenes ARE the Gamecube version """""now""""""", but for some reason they decided to dump them into ai along with a ton of in-game textures too.

Tie-in for Shadows of the Damned Remastered.

But that remastered has Suda directly involved and no shoved-in ai.

So its like the Killer 7 Remastered tried to cash-in on that, but ended up doing the opposite where the game was better before the update than after.

Is there perhaps a way to disable the upscaled cutscenes? Do you have to revert to a previous version of the game? I've wanted to try this game out for a long time cause I heard the PC port is good, but I guess I just have really bad timing with this update

You can at least revert it using the Beta branch.

For now at least. They could remove it if they wanted to.

Although note that it was not just the cutscenes. If you only complain about the cutscenes then thats all that could be addressed. We need to emphasize the texture downgrades as well.
