[SPOILER WARNING] Dan and Emir
Serious spoilers ahead.

When the Smith Syndicate is killed by Emir in the Union Hotel, all of its members come back with abilities that they believe would've saved them from their horrible fates. Some examples would be Coyote gaining the ability to reach high places after the way he was ambushed or Kevin being able to become completely invisible after realizing his disguises aren't perfect after all. However, I'm not exactly sure what Dan earns after his standoff with Emir.

The wiki says that after the incident his gun now shoots .44 rounds instead of the standard .357. However, isn't the HANDSOME DEVIL modeled after the Taurus 44? That gun already shoots .44 rounds. I considered the possibility that maybe he gained the Collateral Shot but didn't he learn that from Curtis or is it not made clear?

I'm starting to believe the abilities the Smiths gained were decided by Emir instead of being born from their own insecurities. I doubt KAEDE would've wanted to permanently mark herself as a traitor. I also don't think MASK thought his mask gave him any special powers. On the other hand, I do think that 13-year-old Emir would've given them these attributes after absorbing their personalities into his own psyche. Perhaps Emir thought there was nothing Dan lacked and gave him nothing since he had no chance whatsoever considering the situation?

What do you guys think?

I don't *think* the Collateral Shot is really given any lore so you can consider that your answer if you want. (It destroys cores and Emir had a "core" in the form of his third eye, you could say.) It also fits for being an offensive ability at all since Dan is the only one to directly "fight" him.
