they need to add good content and some more features to the game and work out the glitches. Show players that you care and they will come back
Losing the whole progress every 3 month may work for some, but a lot of people are put off.....
No wipes? Are you insane? That would kill the game even faster. Wipes are needed so that new players can pick up the game and not get totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Path of Exile sorted this issue pretty well. I wish they made the same system here.
I think a game's death is totally subjective, and one of the things I see the most is player's that compare games to websites like Steam Charts and say that the number shown is the total number of people playing the game. I think it is incredibly important to highlight the difference between Concurrent Players, which is how many people are playing "right now", in comparison to something like "Total Logins within 24 hours" which is much different and not shown by Steam Charts. You also have to remember we're a Cross Play title with Epic Games Store, and while you might not use it, our previous game was exclusively available on Epic and the old cosmetics carried over to the new game, so a lot of our "Veteran" players can be found over there!
In a nutshell, the "2,000" or so players that are online at X time are not the same 2,000 players on 12 hours later, or the same 2,000 players the next day, a portion of them are different players, some brand new to the title and genre as well!
If you were to ask me, we're just getting started. We'll be continuing to push out new updates, new content, patches, dev videos, events, and more all year long, and while we will of course work towards growing the playerbase, we want to assure those actively playing the game that we will be right here when they're interested in dropping onto the surface to get their PvPvE fix!
Thanks for the discussion, hope I was able to give some helpful insight! :)
