anticheat is tough, especially when you didn't design a game to support anticheat well, which is what i think they did, they cut corners and now lack the necessary tech to do both effective anticheat and compensation, part laziness part bad direction

Because they want you to quit this ♥♥♥♥ game asap.

Yeahhh that totally makes sense.. spend years developing a game.. to sell cheats.. to.. kill your game.. and then have no way to generate more money.. and probably not even cover the costs of developing the game.. and then just abandon it.. that's genius OP

why spend years developing a game only to allow cheats to destroy it when anti cheat would fix it

There is an anti cheat. It just isn't working particularly well. If you think there's 0 anti cheat entirely then idk what to tell you

Correct but it is not like this game has apex or COD level of player base. At the beginning it had only 40k but for a month only 7k. Hunt Showdown has a little over twice the player base with almost none of the cheater problem I barely have ran into any.

Hunt Showdown is a paid game though, that automatically makes it more punishing since cheaters would have to buy the game on a new account if they get banned, this being Free to Play means any new Steam account can download it.

hunt showdown does not ban people lol... you literally can do anything and they wont ban.

yea because if we look at rust, having to rebuy the game is a real big deterrent to hackers

I have not looked into the cheats for this game but I am familiar with cheats for another PvP shooter. Cheaters were obvious and detecting some of them was easier then you think.

How hard do you think it will be to implement something like:
Damage hack- check what gun cheater used to kill and see if its capable of doing that much damage, ban
Range hack- check distance between players, can a shotgun do 100% damage from across a map, ban
Rapid fire- attach a timer element to a player that got shot with info of who shot them and with what, check when they get shot again who shot them and check time between shots, can a sniper shoot 2 shots in 1/2 sec, ban
Wall hack- When cheater kills player, we save both player locations, spawn an invisible object at location 1 and have it fly to location 2. If it hits anything except players or monsters in its travel, ban

Name a SINGLE FPS game with an actual fully working anti cheat and ill find you working cheats for it in less than 5 minutes.

The best anti cheat is player reporting and manual review. No game at all is safe with an automated system that makes guesses.

They HAVE implemented a lot of that stuff. They haven't spelled out every measure they put it to make it harder for cheaters to know circumvent the barriers, but that is exactly what they are doing.
