Game exits unexpectedly (drops back to windows, no message)
Seems to crash randomly, during regular play, on station, in tutorial, during evac...
Plays for a few minutes, then, poof!, i'm back looking at my desktop.

Tried rebooting, tried adding -dx11 to commandline, verified files successfully, ran "sfc /scannow" which found and fixed a couple of errors, rebooted again. I have tried several times (lost stuff on planet twice, took 5 tries to finish tutorial.

Windows Event logger found:
svchost (7188,R,98) TILEREPOSITORYS-1-5-18: Error -1023 (0xfffffc01) occurred while opening logfile C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB.log.

But TileDataLayer doesn't existing in AppData\Local\, so I created it an Database.
got the same crash, but logger had more info:

does it happen in other games?

since it doesnt give an error it can be loads of things

did u update gpu driver?

also make sure ur not running overlays in the game like discord overlay or rivatuner and dont alt tab. including steam overlay dont overdo it with steam overlay u can also try to disable it and test it out some people say it helps

if the problem is cause by zune vieo maybe uninstall the groove music player app in windows would help but this is all speculation i doubt zune video is crashing the game

just saw this thread today and its similat to yours its just battleeye crashing is the cause

I reviewed the other post above, and messed with Battleye, it seems to be working. I re-installed twice and verified files twice as well. I still think it has something to do with some service or capability not installed right, yielding the event errors above: a Tile DataBase. one I created the directory, now there are more files in it:

had a crash in 100 hours, and that was due to the pc, at least i admit it was the pc, but everyone says it's the game hahaha :GoldLike::steamhappy:

So, I really want to play this game, but it keeps randomly crashing, with no error messages, no indication that anything went wrong. As noted above, the initial error was about a missing file. But, since I created the missing directory (C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\), I get no error messages at all. Nothing seems to affect the crash. I have tried rebooting, verify local files, sfc (scannow), delete and reinstall, fresh reboot, no other programs running, even installed from epic in a totally separate directory. I have resorted to testing with the tutorial, because I lost so much of the initial loadout stuff crashing while on the planet. I have managed to extract once, but mostly just crash out. None of my other steam (or epic) games have this problem. I just don't know what else to try.

As noted above, I originally always had the error about EDB.log not found, but since I created the directory, I get no errors reported in the event manager. I can see the Battleye service starting and stopping, but no errors.

I have the same issue, DoctorQ. My game crashes at exactly 10 minutes from the time it loads. I have tried everything you have listed and maybe more. There's no error associated with the crash, even in the Windows Event Viewer.
