III - There was 100 footmen and 9 crowns.
IV - Bandits halving the army's and took 3 crowns, so (100/2)=50 footmen and 9-3=6 crowns.
V - Soldiers fell into the trap and 35 of them died, so 50-35=15 footmen and 6 crowns.
VI - Cavalry arrived and quadrupled (x4) army, also another 3 crowns lost, so 15x4=60 footmen and 6-3=3 crowns.
VII - Remaining crowns come to castle and 1 footmen was hanged by the king, so 60-1=59 and 3 crowns
In total: You should do level 59 with 3 crowns. Where's the mistake?
P.S. Puzzles in Myst have more sense, than yours.
2 Mistakes:
First:
III - There was 100 footmen and 10 crowns. (10 Crowns and not 9)
Second:
VII - The crowns reached the castle at the day's end, but in exchange for the lost crowns, the king hanged the footmen of the "original" army. (Before the Footmen Number quadrupled at step VI, the number of the footmens was 15. Those 15 Footmens are the army original number.
60-15=45, and 4 crowns.
How nine can be ten?

And how I should guess about deducting this 15 mens if it is not mentioned anywhere,

It's some kind of bug? Or are there some other variations?
