additional information : I run windows 7 . dual 1080ti and dual 4k monitors if this helps out.
Hello, I have the same problem since patch 3.0.6. It worked well during 3.0.5. I run windows 8.1.
I have this proplem too
Same here. Only now, people have been pointing out the Anniversary Edition has a Windows 10 requirement. I don't get how I could play the game last month (when I bought it), using Windows 8.1. It makes no sense to me the game worked in the past and after patch 3.0.6 it doesn't, if this was really due to a Windows 10 requirement.
they changed the requirements without telling us. it was also window 7 and 8.1 etc, until the recent patch. the devs are frauds, and stole our money. Im not sure if steam can help with a refund on this type of situation.

They also dropped MacOS and Linux support.

I run windows 10 newest edition and I load the game and the screen starts going though the tutorial stuff then just shuts the game down?
I just got a refund from steam. I highly encourage you to do the same.
I have windows 8.1 enterprise ... so does that mean now the game is unworkable because it requires windows 10? that is just so silly ... i agree threethreethree ... it got too much for them ... i will be asking for a full refund ... can't steam do anything?
has nothing to do with game creation or game making. it has to do with making a product. selling it to everyone. only to take the abilitiy from your gamerbase to play it. its like making a smart coffee maker that you use a touch screen to work. only to get a firmware update to it by the devs that disables any input from the touch screen. you can still turn it on. it just wont do anything.
Changing system requirements on Early Access titles has sadly become a thing in the past year, before that I'd only heard of two titles doing it. The smarter ones stick some kind of "subject to change" down there or in the store write up, the others do this and hope nobody calls them on it I guess. Makes buying EA hazardous as heck for people with older systems or ones on the verge of being outdated like mine is.

Early Access titles are entitled to change their system requirement. While a full version is not.

If they really really need to change the requirement at least inform their customer about it.

Lots of full release titles change their requirements post-release, SCS upped those of Euro Truck 2 and American Truck Sim, then later dropped support for 32 bit OSes. Such is the "curse" of continued support. The PC I started playing those games on wouldn't be able to run them now.

I agree they should inform, but it's easier to adjust wording and hope nobody notices rather than risk a wave of people demanding refunds. I'd wager most of the original Crossroads crowd has long since moved on and likely won't be back, and that's what they're banking on.
All: There is active work being done to see about getting something reverted and playable for those who choose to use older Windows Operating Systems. It may not be possible but time and effort is still being put into looking into possible solutions.

Windows 10 was a free upgrade for all legal Win 7 and Win 8.1 users. There isn't much that can be done for those who choose not to stay up to date. Windows 7 isn't even supported by Microsoft anymore so to expect a gaming company to cater to an obsolete OS is a little....well it's a stretch. Still, it is being looked into!

But if anybody notice that they change the requirement without notifying, then it would be bad.

For example, you have bought a game with MSR(Minimum Sys. Req) of 8 GB RAM, a full version not really access or a beta. But it runs poorly, the devs created a patch but the minimum system is increased in order the patch to work. They stealthily increased the MSR.

Some of the users complained that the game is stopped working after the patch, after they published their system specs the PR with sooo much confidence said that the MSR is 16 GB, hence their complaints is not valid, the choice is either you upgrade to 16 GB or **** off...

That is not nice and I can't blame customers for calling them fraud...

But if the devs make an announcement and apologize, this will be a different story. Some might request refunds or demand the working version that they can access. The discretion would be the old version will never be supported but they can still play it.

It's good to hear. I hope you push an announcement that windows 7 is not supported in the next patch or something like that and inform the programmers or anyone responsible in uploading the game, to put the previous version or non anniversary edition in the beta branch.
