Tutorial????
I see a lot of potential in Crossroads - unrealized. I like what I see so far except learning the mechanics of the game seems to be a trial and error process. NO! Not gonna do that. There has to be a how (manual) somewhere, or a video and the controls section in options isn't it. The tutorial works pretty good when it works (not too far in when it just stopped) but it mostly doesn't - work - that is.

For example - the tutorial is broken or maybe just works in a weird way I am not familiar with.

Place a secret note on the notice board. Use the context menu to post it - except the tutorial doesn't tell ya how to get to the context menu or even what that is.

Open up the inn for customers. Customers come in - sit down - ♥♥♥♥♥ about "Where's the waitress?", "Not enough drinks". Nothing about how to hire staff or get them to work. I'm guessing that even though I figured out how to post the note (I wanted to burn the whole place down until I accidentally clicked on the board and posted the secret note) nothing happened and I waited and waited. Waited a while. Nothing so I opened the inn. Customers entered and got Ticked off almost immediately.

Checked out the most popular game guide - lots of information about the who's and the whats )pretty good guide for that) but not the hows? Checked out You Tube - not a lot of mechanics information there either.

Game assumes I know things that I don't. I mostly play wargames, Skyrim and Fallout 4. Way, way different.

I want to buy this game - it is different and I can see it will be fun but - I AM NOT GOING TO FIGHT THE MECHANICS NOR WASTE MY TIME PLAYING THE TRIAL AND ERROR THING. NOPE! NOT GONNA DO IT.

So what is the solution?

The tutorial can be a bit frustrating. If you do not do exactly what it wants you to do, it will not open up the options that allow you to continue. This is why you can not hire staff or stock your inn with goods. The game is still waiting for you to use the notice board to summon Renmy. You need Renmy, because he is the smuggler who will deliver you wine under Rockburrys nose. Until you have wine to sell there is no point in opening.

You should simply be able to click on the notice board to post the message and move the quest along. When you click on it, you should have 4 options use the skull shaped one to post the note.

Failing that, id suggest playing sandbox. It is in may ways a better way to learn the game without all the roadblocks, challenges, and story events the campaign tosses at you.

Edited to add. I just replayed it to be sure there wasnt some bug introduced with the latest patch and I was able to progress. One major thing to note is Martin wont instantly run off to post the message. Depending on how quickly it takes you to progress to this point, Martin might still have a ton of stuff he is doing, cleaning tables, fetching water, ect. Give him time, he will eventually post the note.

I had a different problem where after I did the tutorial to the end, they customers would just not come into the inn. Ever, like it's suppose to end the tutorial but that part never came up after I completed everything and therefore the game just stopped there and they kept passing by the inn even though it was open.
