Washing too slow

I have a lot of dirty mugs and dishes, I closed the Inn for 2 days and my 2 cook washing like 5 mugs... How you speed that up ? as of now I just buy more and more mugs xD

cooks are expensive to use for washing. hire two drudges, place two washing barrels and have the two drudges do high prio washing. servants collect dirty stuff. have dedicated storage shelf only for dirty stuff next to the washing place. if you have washing machine 2 it's way way faster. just specialize people to one two tasks mostly. i like to have one shelf for clean stuff only next to my counter. and check "storage"part of the washing machine - uncheck clean stuff from there - you don't want that. plus good practice of mine is uncheck dirty stuff from all other shelves anywhere else, just that one dedicated with high prio.

Yeah i found that i HAD to have 2 cheap dishwashers as soon as possible becuase they are sooo slow to use else i could never keep up, didnt need any special settings on employees as long as i simply had enough of them overall, but 2 dishwashers are a must and upgrading to the fast modern dishwasher makes all the difference in the world, had 2 moderns last play through, so far this playthru, 1 modern has no problem keeping up. (basic dw is -3 speed, modern is +3 speed, so mox difference in speed between the 2)

Yes, starting out you need at least 2 of the dish washing barrels and Drudges that can do the washing. The initial washing barrel is so slow. Early game I try to search the world map for one of the good dish washing machines so I can unlock and purchase. It is very expensive, but so worth it. Then I can free up workers for other tasks.
