Directx device lost crash!
Well... it seems I'm experiencing a new type of crash on my side.

Game crashed three times in a row with a message saying: Directx device lost restart the application.

Never had this before.

Am I the only one?

Same here. Yesterday I finished the campaign mode that I started in 2.0.4 with no issue. Today I'm trying to start a new campaign in 2.0.6. No problem until you get to the point in which Martyn is telling you to build new inn.

The first crash happen when I was scrolling through the notification tab right after taking a loan. The second crash happen when I was switching from build mode to decorate mode soon after taking loan.

First crash I got the same "Directx device lost" error message like Lurhem. I tried it again and got another crash at the same point in game but with new error that says:
Can't load Image "8crbn1ry-au5qz2ufmf_jkua"

I manually deleted all of my autosaves (about 60 of them) and the game is now running fine for me so far. Not saying that autosave is the cause for the crash but considering there's a number of other players complaining about it, perhaps it's one of the possible cause?
I bought the game yesterday (25th Nov19) and installed it this morning. I am having exactly the same crash (directX device lost - please restart application). It happens in the campaign around the time Martyn tells me to start decorating the main hall (usually after I've put the tables & benches in) but I also had the same crash when I tried Sandbox mode.
I don't have any saved games at all (never got far enough into the game to need them) so deleting them is not an answer for me.

I have Win10 (which comes with DirectX 12) and because the game says it requires DirectX 11 I thought it might be worth trying to force DX11 via start options. This did not work either.
I've also had the "can't load image" problem that oi__io described.
I've had the latest graphics card drivers installed since a few days ago and I was thinking about rolling them back but considering that other people are having this problem since the game update, I'm inclined to think it's a game problem and not specifically my computer.

Edit 1: I haven't checked autosaves however... I'll check to see if I have any, if I do, I'll delete them and try the game again. If it fails I'll update my post.
Edit 2: I had one autosave. I deleted that and started the campaign again. Actually progressed further than before. Got to the part where Martyn is explaining about talking to people and then... crash "directx device lost". I watched a few youtube vids of this game and it's something I want to play (a lot!) but this crash is making it near on impossible :(

Small update to my post.
I tried running the game via the Windows Program Compatibility Troubleshooter.
I let it test the game with Recommended settings.
It worked, no crash for the time that I played.
I saved the game and started it again and still no crash.

For those unsure of how to find the Troubleshooter, this website is handy

Window 10 come with an lite version of directX 11 and 10. Not a full one and it shtty.

Try to install the full one, which you can find in the game folder name _CommonRedist

Unfortunately Crossroads Inn does not have any folders except a bin folder containing a .pak file.
To find the CommonRedist folder, you'll have to look into the files of some of your other games.
Weird, i got mine in the the game folder. And it like in my every game.

But well, that thing in every where and you can always search for it on the internet. I just show the fastest way.

Popping in to report the same fault in my Radeon 5700 XT. I'm turning down some recommended (by Radeon Software) options. If you don't here back, then the fault resolved.

Fingers crossed that it resolves itself! Carry on and pour the Ale, Innkeeper!
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Just had the same error btw.

They have obviously patched part of the code, it used to crash every 10 minutes or so when I first had the problem, after contacting the devs, I've only had one crash in 10+ hours game time. I dont know it it actually helps but other games suggest deleting the auto-saves to reduce the instances of crashing. I do it as a precaution, just in case. Save every couple of minutes.
