Staff Room Usage
What do I need to get workers to use staff room> So far the only things that seem to entice them are a bed, a dart board or a picture or something to look at. I have tried other items but no interest. O h a barrel of lager got some interest.

Can someone help me, please?

I think they will always smoke in the main room. I had a table and benches in there for them for their breaks but they ignored it and smoked in the common room with the guests. They did use the beds to sleep, though.

I wonder if the devs have any plans to make the Staff Room more useful. Other than as a staff dormitory I do not see any use for it. Waste of time, space and money to build in my opinion.

Dart boards and bookshelves will give your staff something to do on their breaks other then wander around your inn. They are also considered fun entertainment and will give your staff positive "had fun" moodlets. They are very much worth having, your staff is going to take breaks anyhow, they might as well get a benefit from it.

As far as beds, they are also useful. If your staff cant rest their performance will drop. They will screw up jobs a lot more, work slower, and lose loyalty. Once again, they are going to take breaks anyhow. If they are not going to have fun, id rather they then slept to stay at top performance.

Thank you for the response, Wantoomany. It explains what is currently in game quite well. I would like to see them sit down have a mug and smoke in the staff room rather than the main hall. Have a chat with fellow workers.

Workers not only need to have a break, they need a break from customers. Also staring at walls really annoys me. Nap time.

I have my current Staff Room set up as a dormitory. I found it interesting that as I set down a bed it quickly was taken. I now have seven beds but the workers are no longer rushing to sleep. Oh they do take advantage but more slowly. Guess that at first they were pretty tired but have gotten rested.

I still would love to see more activity from the workers just as we used staff rooms in real life not only to rest, even nap but socialize or read. Aha I need to find a book shelf. See how that works. Any other suggestion not yet posted would be appreciated.

I have put beds, tables and chairs, dart board and other things to entertain them in there and they still take their breaks in empty rooms, the store room and kitchen. Quite often, they sit in the main hall and smoke. The only time I have seen them go in the staff room is when they are cleaning or making the beds.
