People/Workers just stand around doing nothing
This game is buggy. Doing the campaign and finding that very often my two servants and uncle just stand still with the cleaning symbol above their heads.

I've found a way around this by saving, and re-loading the game I just saved, then they go back to work. Having to do it every 5 minutes.

Do you have a locked or otherwise inaccessible room or space? Generally if you see the cleaning icon, but they are acting like zombies is because they want to clean a space but cant get to it, or figure out how to get to it.

Make sure that every room has at least one large open space (like, roughly a square in size) where cleaners can get in to do their job and work out their cleaning animations. They need a LOT more space to clean than you might think, and even one "inaccessible" room will make them lose their minds and just decide not to clean anything.

Because this game is kind of a mess.

EDIT: It gets really fun when you have smallish rooms and the cleaners lock in on one SPECIFIC square and you get to move around the furniture repeatedly trying to figure out which one they have their little hearts set on.

This was the starting, default tutorial. Waiting for the uncle to put the note up. Just stood in the room behind the steps until I re-loaded the game.

Are you talking about the empty room next to the stairs in campaign mode? There's a debris blocking the stairs. If your drudge hasn't clear it out yet, you'll get people stuck in the empty room next to it because they wanted to go and clean the floor upstairs but can't get to it yet.

Just hire a drudge, remove the debris, make sure they can get upstairs and they will no longer stand around in that room. If you can't hire a drudge yet, just turn off the cleaning task, reload the game and wait until you can hire one. Remember to turn it back on once you have access to the top floor.

This was in the room behind the stairs. It happened again later with the workers just standing in the main room. What's interesting about the bug, is that it happens on my laptop often, but doesn't happen when I play on my desktop.

That's not my issue, they aren't blocked. If I save and reload the game I just saved, they continue to move and work. If I don't they just sit there and the icon never shows progress.

If something was blocking their way then reloading the game wouldn't solve the issue. The fact the reloading the game with everyone in their exact spot and nothing changing fixes the issue, seems to lean towards a bug in the game not that I have an empty room with something blocking them. I'll take a video of it next time.
No they don't, the save just save their location.

Their "doing list" refresh each time you load into your game. So that how it fix most of the problems. Including selling furniture that "in used" sometime, but they will come back if you don't fix the source.

Post some screenshot of your Inn. I can tell you where.

You misunderstand, we are not saying they are blocked in. We are saying there is an area they want to go that is itself blocked. The reason you can load and get them moving again is because it restarts your employees task list. They then become free to move again, up until the point they pick that task they cant get to. Then they completely stop unsure of how to proceed.

So, you need to closely examine your inn. There is something they want to do that they cant. It could be a room they cant get to, a space in a room they cant get to, or something as simple as a piece of furniture placed the wrong way against a wall.

If it's during the tutorial, it's because the tutorial specifically starts out with a blocked area of rubble preventing access to the second floor. Simultaneously, it does not disable your employees from wanting to CLEAN the second floor because this game is... uh... this game. I seriously think that literally no playtesting was done before release.

This leads to anyone with cleaning priority inevitably bugging out forever because if they can't access an area they'll just bug out and lose their minds instead of finding something else to do.

What you want to do is access priorities for every employee and disable cleaning entirely until the game lets you hire a drudge to clean that rubble. Then save and reload so they stop trying to do it.
