A full order of 20 stacks can last me quite a while...
chandeliers have both the advantages of being quite aesthetically pleasing and not using floor or wall space, but the simplified logistics of firepots bought me over. in any case i've not done the research about if candles are more efficient than other light fuels, but again, wood is cheap and the kitchen also uses it.
also, usually one light source seems to be enough for most rooms, but i don't know how many "squares" can be reached with one light source
Early game torches seem the better option. Fat is cheaper then candles. However the rate of consumption seems the same 5 fat per torch and 5 candles per chandelier. In the long run candles win out if you are set up to make your own. Unless there is a way to make your own fat I've not found yet.
