Is candle consumption too high?
How you guys handling the lighting? Candles are fairly expensive (in the campaign at least I don't have my own production yet).

Do you guys use torches more than candles for lighting?

I unlocked the skills in the skill tree.
1. you need the bee hive (honey + wax)
2. you've to unlock the the skill to be able to make candles from wax
3. primary you need to purchase the device for candes making (or maybe find it on the map? idk, the sandbox is kinda confusing in this)
4. you've to have allowed for the kitchen staff be able to make it
There ... but for a while I'd start with the hives and build some stock of wax (not much) and you'll be fine after that.

btw: ight be missing or not some step, idk from the head right now

I use the torches. They use fat wich is an ingredient you can use for dishes too. You can use fire cauldrons too. They are using fire wood as fuel but fire wood is only good for fuel your stoves. It's not an ingredient and they need much space and careful placing to avoid guests stucking and strting to break things.

Yes, definitely agree with this. It seems I'm blowing through candles and fat every couple days, and I don't even have a very large inn at all. Would be nice if the consumption rate could be turned down just a little bit.

I tried that. There's always complaints about it being too dark. How many windows do you people use? :P

Is there a simpler way to turn lights off during the day? (simpler than finding every single lamp and disabling it?)

Nice to do that auto
I found it no matter which candle lights you use, the staff just took the whole lot of candle to replace it, it doesn't seems like the amount is correct....

Every light source uses 5 candles or fat, regardless of how many actual candles it might appear to use graphically.
