Bug: key bindings and options
First of all, it is really great that you have key rebindings in such a small game, but it seems that they are not working properly. When e. g. I want to set W to V, the change is ignored.

Furthermore, I am wondering: options are not saved, are they? Or is this a Linux problem?

Hi there!
I believe you first have to get rid of the other function set to V (which might not be possible until a while into the game - an oversight on my part). And no, the options are not saved between sessions as it was thought to be completed in one sitting.

I apologize for these shortcomings, and they will be looked over for the release of Chapter II.

Hi Acke, I appreciate very much that you took the time to answer.

I do not understand that. So I start the game, directly go to options, and only change W to V. That does not work. But you mean, I maybe have to wait some time before I am able to change the key settings?

Understandable, thanks for the info.

No worries! Thanks for asking :)

The reason you cannot change it to V specifically, is because another feature (that becomes available to you in the game) is set to it. Hence that keybinding is locked away until certain progress in the game.

Really sorry for this, like I said - it is an oversight on my part.

So I played it now and used a gamepad. Really nice game.

Anyway, I suggest to fix this issue by not hiding that special function that is triggered via V. Instead just name it with an unsuspicious name (e. g. action). So the game is not spoiled and the controls can be changed without strange behaviour.

Just like in any other game. I used the XBox 360 controller under Windows 10, as far as I remember. I don’t think that I had to manage anything, it just worked.

As you see a controller is only partially supported, so maybe it does not work in the menu.

I just installed the game under Ubuntu 22.04. Works like a charm, even the menu seems to be controllable by gamepad. I switched on my XBox 360 controller and then started the game.

Sorry I cannot help more. If you still have problems, you should start a new thread (because this is about key bindings).
